Experienced Government Grant Writer (Federal, State & Local | Healthcare & Rural Health Focus)

WHO We’re Looking For We are seeking a highly experienced Government Grant Writer with a strong track record in federal, state, and local government funding, particularly within healthcare, rural health, and community-based programs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compliance-driven, and confident navigating complex government grant systems and regulations. WHAT You’ll Do You will support our organization by identifying, developing, and submitting competitive, compliant government grant proposals, including: Researching relevant federal, state, and local grant opportunities Reviewing RFPs/NOFOs and ensuring full compliance Writing: Grant narratives Needs assessments Work plans & timelines Logic models Evaluation plans Preparing budget justifications aligned with program goals Ensuring compliance with 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance) Managing proposal timelines and coordinating with internal stakeholders Assisting with submissions via: Grants.gov SAM.gov State and agency-specific portals WHERE You’ll Work Remote / Freelance (UpWork) Must be comfortable working with U.S. federal and state agencies WHEN We Need You Ongoing, project-based work Availability to meet government submission deadlines is required WHY This Role Matters Your work will directly support programs that improve healthcare access, rural health services, and community outcomes, particularly in underserved and rural areas. HOW You’ll Succeed (Qualifications) Required: 3–5+ years of experience writing government grants Proven success securing federal, state, and/or local funding Strong knowledge of: Grants.gov SAM.gov Government submission workflows Excellent technical and narrative writing skills Strong compliance, organization, and attention to detail Strongly Preferred: Experience with CMS, HHS, HRSA, or similar agencies Familiarity with Nevada state grant processes and health authorities Experience developing rural health proposals Background in healthcare, public health, housing, or community development TO APPLY, PLEASE PROVIDE Samples of successful government grant proposals you’ve written Government agencies you’ve secured funding from (e.g., HRSA, HHS, CMS, state agencies) Your typical process and timeline for developing a full proposal
