Experienced Independent English Tutors Needed for Paid Research Interview (Written Responses)
Worldwide
Hi! We are conducting market research for a new product designed specifically for independent English tutors. This is not a test, and there are no right or wrong answers. We are looking for real English tutors who currently teach adult learners or professionals, preferably in one-to-one online lessons. Your honest experience is much more valuable than short or generic answers. The task takes approximately 10–15 minutes. If your answers are thoughtful and based on real teaching experience, we may also invite you to a separate paid follow-up interview. Requirements Please apply only if you: Currently teach English Teach online (fully or partially) Have real teaching experience Can provide detailed answers based on your own workflow Please answer the following questions in your proposal: 1. Tell me briefly about your teaching business. What type of English do you teach? Are your lessons mainly one-to-one or group-based? Approximately how many active students do you currently teach? Are they mostly your direct clients or students from marketplaces/platforms? Do they usually purchase individual lessons or lesson packages? 2. After finishing a lesson, what do you normally do before the next lesson? Please explain: what you record, where you save it, which tools you use, approximately how much time this usually takes, and whether you currently pay for any of those tools. 3. How do you decide what to teach a returning student in the next lesson? Please describe your process using a real student from the last three months. What part of this process is the most difficult or time-consuming? 4. How do you currently show students that they are making progress? What do you usually share? How do students normally react? Do you feel your current approach is enough? Why? 5. Think about the most recent student who paused lessons or decided not to continue. What happened? What reasons did they give, or what do you believe influenced their decision? What, if anything, could realistically have changed the outcome? 6. Imagine a tool that automatically turns your lesson notes into: an updated learner profile, recommendations for the next lesson, and a professional progress update that you can share with your student. Would this meaningfully improve your current workflow? Please explain: what would be genuinely valuable, what would not be useful, what tools or work it could replace, and what would stop you from using it regularly. 7. If this tool worked reliably and genuinely saved you time after almost every lesson, would you pay to use it? Please tell us: what monthly price would feel reasonable, whether you would join an early paid pilot, or why you would not pay.
