Experienced KDP Book Producer & Team Lead - (Long-Term, Highly experienced, Agency-Level)

𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘂𝘀 We're an established self-publishing operation producing books for the US market. We already have a proven, standardized production process and live, selling titles on Amazon. We're scaling up and want 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗱-𝘁𝗼-𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲𝗿 who can take a title from concept to a print-ready, KDP-compliant book — including polished covers — with minimal supervision. This is an 𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲, not a one-off gig. We're looking for a professional who already operates at agency level and can own the full pipeline. (We'll share the specific niche and format details with shortlisted candidates.) ------------- 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗼 (𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁) 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 • Produce complete book manuscripts end-to-end, from brief to finished file. • Structure and write on-brand content tailored to a specific target reader for each title. • Ensure every title is internally consistent, high quality, and calibrated to our intended reader experience. • Work with our standardized production workflow (structured/generated files) and refine the output into a finished book — comfort with structured content and light technical tooling is a big plus. • Full QA and proofreading: check consistency, catch layout/text errors, and confirm the title is clean before publishing. • Format manuscripts to KDP print specs (correct trim size, margins, interior layout, front/back matter, page numbering). 𝗖𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 & 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 • Prepare 𝟯 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁-𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲 (concepts + finalized files), correctly set up for KDP (trim size, bleed, spine width, back-cover copy placement). • Generate and refine cover artwork using AI image tools (e.g. Midjourney / DALL·E) and finish/edit in design software (Photoshop, Affinity, InDesign, or equivalent). • Produce interior illustrations when a title calls for them. 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 • Handle KDP upload and metadata: categories, keywords, pricing, and title setup. • Write keyword-optimized, punchy Amazon listing copy that converts. • Run competitor, keyword, and niche research to validate and position each title. • Keep every title compliant with KDP Content Guidelines and clearly differentiated from other works (title, cover, author name, description). • Optional: manage translations / localization for additional markets. 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 • Manage multiple titles in parallel, hit deadlines, stay organized, and report progress clearly. ------------- 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 (𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁-𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀) • 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗺 𝟯 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 of hands-on KDP / self-publishing experience. • You have 𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 (𝗮) 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗞𝗗𝗣 / 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆, 𝗼𝗿 (𝗯) 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗼𝗻 - and you can prove it. • A portfolio with 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝗦𝗜𝗡𝘀 (your own titles) or agency titles you produced. • Demonstrated skill in 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 book production 𝗮𝗻𝗱 cover design (+ huge AI experience) - we need one person who can do the full pipeline at a high level. • Fluent, native-level English writing. • Solid working knowledge of KDP Content Guidelines and how to keep titles original and compliant. • Reliable, self-directed, and able to run a title with minimal hand-holding.
