Our California personal injury firm is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive paralegal with strong familiarity in PI litigation workflow. Case manager experience is a plus. You should be comfortable working within a fast-paced, high-standards environment and able to produce high-quality work based strictly on the information contained in the case file. We are looking for someone who understands the importance of deadlines, accuracy, communication, and continual improvement. What You’ll Do: Prepare discovery responses, including interrogatories, document requests, and verifications, based on evidence, medical records, insurance documentation, employment records, and attorney notes. Draft meet-and-confer correspondence. Organize medical records and summarize key information. Draft demands. Assist with complaints, propounding written discovery, deposition scheduling, and calendaring. Track filing deadlines, hearing deadlines, service deadlines, and all applicable time frames under the Code of Civil Procedure, local court rules, and California Rules of Court. Review court websites to confirm calendars, reservation requirements, filing procedures, and judge-specific guidelines. Communicate with clients, court clerks, and experts as needed. Maintain well-organized case files and proactively identify what needs to be done next in each case. Case manager experience is a plus. What We’re Looking For: Strong understanding of California personal injury litigation, including discovery timelines, service requirements, and common PI terminology. Experience working with medical records and identifying relevant information such as diagnostic findings, imaging results, and treatment chronology. A proactive mindset with the ability to identify missing pieces, anticipate next steps, check local rules without needing to be asked, and flag issues early. Comfortable taking feedback and improving with each assignment. Strong written communication skills. Spanish language ability is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential. Preferred Background: At least one to three years of California PI litigation experience. Prior experience with discovery drafting, demand writing, calendaring, client communication, and medical record review. Familiarity with California state courts, including e-filing systems, reservation systems, and local rules. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and cases simultaneously. Multi-lingual preferred, please indicate which languages you speak other than English and at what level.
