Experienced Revit Drafter – Residential Production Builder
Worldwide
We are a production homebuilder specializing in single-family homes, paired villas, and townhomes. We are growing our drafting capacity and looking to add an experienced drafter to our team. The Role We need an experienced Revit drafter with a residential construction background. You will draft new home plans, convert existing plans, and update plans to our drafting standards and construction methods. You must also be willing to learn LotSpec and apply it alongside Revit using a specific drafting method required by our workflow. Revit Experience – Required Revit is our primary drafting software. We need someone with strong Revit experience in residential drafting. • Many years of Revit experience in residential construction • Experience with residential construction means and methods • Experience working with multiple residential types, and projects at different stages of development • Ability to read a redlined PDF and apply corrections accurately in Revit • Ability to follow written drafting standards • Willingness to learn LotSpec (Software Add-On to Revit) • CAD experience is a plus but not required About LotSpec – Our Drawing Software Add-On LotSpec is a Revit add-on by Simpson Strong-Tie built for production homebuilders. It pulls from a master Revit model to generate a complete, buyer-specific construction drawing set based on selected options. This requires drafting in a specific way — geometry must be broken into separate parts and tagged so LotSpec knows what to include or adjust per selection. LotSpec experience is not required. Full training will be provided. Day-to-Day Responsibilities • Draft and update comprehensive residential home plans in Revit • Follow company drafting standards and construction methods • Convert existing PDF plans into Revit/LotSpec • Read redlined PDFs and apply corrections accurately to the model • Learn and apply the LotSpec drafting method — breaking geometry into options, tagging moving parts, and setting up sheet files • Run LotSpec solves and check the output drawing sets for accuracy • Adjust geometry files and sheet files as designs change This Role Does Not Require • SketchUp • 3D rendering or visualization • Title 24 or energy compliance documentation
