We run 8 crews across Melbourne and Victoria handling 250 plus jobs every week for residential and commercial builders. Our project pipeline is growing fast and we need an experienced scaffold drafter to support our head drafter on an ongoing basis. The Role This is a remote contract drafting position. You will receive builder supplied working drawings and produce accurate scaffold drawings in iScaf software. Once drawings are complete iScaf automatically generates the gear list which feeds into our quoting system. Jobs range from standard residential double storey builds through to large multi block residential developments covering 9 to 14 lots per stage and complex commercial scaffold projects at heights of 9 to 28 metres. This is not a simple job. Our projects are technically demanding and accuracy is critical because these drawings go directly to site crews and are used to pull scaffold gear from the warehouse. Errors have real consequences. What You Will Be Doing Receiving PDF working drawings from Australian residential and commercial builders. Tracing wall lines and determining scaffold configurations, bay layouts, lift heights, and platform types in iScaf. Producing completed scaffold drawings ready for gear list generation. Managing revisions when builders make changes to plans. Communicating directly with our head drafter Scott for technical queries and sign off. Delivering drawings within agreed timeframes turnaround time is critical for our quoting pipeline. What We Need From You iScaf experience is essential. This is non negotiable. We are not looking to train anyone on the software. You must be able to open iScaf, receive a set of working drawings, and produce a complete scaffold drawing independently without hand holding. Strong understanding of scaffold systems including Kwikstage, edge protection, void platforms, pitch platforms, stair access towers, and multi lift configurations. Ability to read and interpret Australian residential and commercial working drawings accurately. Fast turnaround — our quoting pipeline depends on drawing speed. Reliable communication — we need to know where drawings are at and when they will be done. Examples of previous scaffold drawings produced in iScaf are required with your application. Project Examples You Will Be Working On Single residential lots — standard double storey edge protection and facade scaffold. Multi block residential developments — up to 14 blocks per stage with multiple lot types per block. Commercial projects — multi storey buildings up to 28 metres with complex access requirements including stair towers stretcher access and loading bays. Heavy duty rated platforms at 675kg per bay. Medium duty rated platforms at 450kg per bay. Technical Details Software — iScaf. File format — working drawings supplied as PDF. Output — completed iScaf drawing files with gear list export. Communication — direct with head drafter Scott Miller via email or video call for complex jobs. Revisions — included as part of each job. Timeframes — discussed per job based on complexity. Rate We pay per drawing based on complexity. Simple residential single lot — negotiable. Multi block residential development per block — negotiable. Commercial projects — negotiable based on hours and complexity. We are looking for a fair rate that reflects expertise and fast turnaround.
