Experienced Video Editor — Nature Documentary + 2D Animation (Long-Term)

We're a fast-growing science and nature documentary channel. Every video is a single-topic deep dive that blends cinematic wildlife footage with flat 2D animated explainers — and we're looking for editors to join our core team long-term. For the quality bar, pacing, and animation style we're after, watch this: Why Orcas Are Terrified of Sperm Whales (BeyondTheBlue). What you'll do: You'll edit 12 - 17 minute documentary videos from a detailed brief. Your job is to execute it to a cinematic standard: cut the B-roll, build the 2D graphics, and lock the sound. You're a strong fit if you can: - Edit cinematic documentary footage — pacing, slow-motion, color grading, and B-roll selection that feels premium, not stock-dump - Build clean flat/vector-style 2D animated explainers — scale comparisons, mechanism diagrams, kinetic text (After Effects) - Handle retention-driven sound design — placing music cues and syncing single percussive hits to on-screen words To apply: send TWO of your best intros (first 30–60 seconds) that show cinematic nature or wildlife editing.
