Summary

Bookkeeper Responsibilities Process weekly payroll for internal and offshore staff with a high level of accuracy Prepare, issue, and track client invoices, including recurring billing and adjustments Record sales receipts and properly apply client payments Manage accounts receivable, including following up on overdue balances Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring sufficient runway for payroll and operations Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations Prepare monthly financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) for leadership review Review actuals against the monthly budget and highlight variances Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning Maintain an accurate and well-organized general ledger Ensure proper classification of payroll, contractor costs, revenue, and operating expenses Prepare and organize 1099 information for the external accountant Support month-end and year-end close processes Maintain clean, well-documented, and audit-ready financial records Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls Assist with ad hoc financial reporting and analysis as needed Requirements 3+ years of experience as a bookkeeper Strong experience with US-based companies Hands-on experience with payroll processing and client invoicing Proficiency with Quickbooks. High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage weekly, monthly, and ad hoc deadlines independently Strong organizational and documentation skills Comfortable working with remote teams and async communication Excellent written English communication skills Reliable internet connection and ability to work overlapping US business hours High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling financial data
