I am developing a premium illustrated journal and am looking for an expert illustrator to create a refined double-page spread illustration system. This is not a standard book illustration or decorative border. The artwork must be subtle enough to live on a functional journal page, beautiful enough to elevate the user experience, and atmospheric enough to feel calm, timeless, and intentional. The spread is B5 size across two pages. The illustration will live primarily in two areas: Header: 30mm / 1.18in tall Footer: 11.5mm / 0.45in tall The header is a civil-twilight ocean sunrise horizon. Art Direction The header should depict a distant ocean horizon at civil twilight, just before sunrise. The sun itself is not visible. Its presence should be felt only through light, atmosphere, and refraction. Light is the heart of this piece. The atmosphere should move naturally across the spread, with subtle shifts in color, tone, and luminosity. Wispy clouds or delicate atmospheric fragments may refract the hidden sunrise light. The ocean horizon should be soft, distant, and restrained — never theatrical, never postcard-like. The lower edge of the header must dissolve naturally and unevenly into the body of the journal page, which is warm off-white. This transition is critical. It should not feel like a rectangular banner pasted onto the page. It should feel as if air, light, and paper are becoming one.
