Email Designer / HTML Developer — 20-Template Nurture System for a UK Family Protection Firm The short version We are a UK will-writing and family protection firm. We need a designer who can build us a modular, brand-consistent email template system covering 20 emails across a lead nurture and client onboarding sequence, built as tested, responsive HTML. Our audience is almost entirely new and expecting parents. The tone has to be warm, calm and trustworthy. This is emphatically not a fear-based campaign, and we will reject work that leans on the visual clichés of the sector. About us Future Life writes wills for families, free of charge, and advises on how those families are financially protected if a parent dies or cannot work. Most of our leads come from baby shows, online parenting partners and referrals from existing clients. We are authorised and regulated in the UK, which shapes this brief in ways worth reading carefully before you apply — see Constraints below. The work 20 email templates, in five groups: Group Templates Purpose Source introductions 3 First contact, varying by where the lead came from Nurture 8 Day 3 to day 90, educational, gently prompting a booking Booking and appointment 2 Confirmation and pre-appointment reminder Document chasers 4 Escalating politely, never nagging Post-appointment 3 Thank you, review request, referral We will supply final, approved copy for every email, along with subject lines and CTA wording. You are not writing or editing copy. You are giving it a home. What we need built into the system A modular block library so we can assemble future emails without coming back to you: header, hero, body text, pull-quote, numbered steps, review/testimonial card, adviser signature with headshot, CTA button, footer with regulatory block. An adviser signature module — several of these emails are signed personally by the adviser who met the client, with their photo and name. It needs to work with photos of varying quality. A review and case-study module for the social-proof email. Bulletproof CTA buttons that survive Outlook. Sensible dark-mode behaviour. Our palette is navy-heavy and we have seen it invert badly. Real text throughout. No images of text. Deliverables Figma file: 4 layouts designed and approved first, then the remaining 16. 20 responsive HTML/CSS email templates, tables-based, inlined, self-contained. Modular block library documented well enough for a non-developer to reassemble. Test evidence — Litmus or Email on Acid screenshots across Outlook 2016/2019/365, Gmail (web, iOS, Android), Apple Mail, Yahoo, and one dark-mode client. Templates loaded into our ESP and confirmed rendering. (ESP: [INSERT — Mailchimp / Klaviyo / HubSpot / other]) Source files, fonts and assets handed over on completion. Brand You will receive our logo pack and existing report design system. The palette and type are fixed: Type — Poppins. Bold for headings, Medium for labels and meta, Regular for body. You will need a robust web-safe fallback stack; Outlook will not render Poppins. Palette Hex Navy #112939 Brand navy #014B6E Brand cyan #4AB4E6 Cyan #68B2E0 Pale blue #BFDFF3 Pale fill #EAF6FC Soft grey #E2E7EB Charcoal #2B3947 Grey #6B7C8C No red, amber or green anywhere. This is a firm rule across everything we produce, not a preference. Emphasis is carried by the navy-to-pale-blue scale and by the words themselves. If your instinct is to make a CTA green because green converts, this is not the project for you. Constraints — please read before applying 1. We are a regulated firm and these emails are financial promotions. Every word is compliance-approved before it reaches you. You must not add, remove or reword copy — including microcopy, button labels, alt text or footer text — without asking. If a layout needs shorter copy to work, tell us and we will get a shorter version approved. Do not shorten it yourself. 2. No fear-based design. These emails go to people with a newborn, or a baby due in weeks. Our subject matter includes death and serious illness and we treat it plainly and calmly. We will reject: grieving or anxious families, empty cots, coffins, candles, storm imagery, hourglasses, sunsets, hospital beds, countdown timers, or anything engineered to create urgency. There is no artificial scarcity in this sequence — one of the emails is literally titled "We're Here When You're Ready." 3. Warmth without saccharine. The bar is a good midwife or a trusted family solicitor: competent, unhurried, kind. Not a life insurance advert. Not a wellness brand. 4. Accessibility is part of the job, not a bonus. WCAG AA contrast, meaningful alt text on every image, logical heading order, minimum 16px body text, tap targets of 44px or more. A meaningful share of our audience reads these one-handed at 3am.
