Summary

We are launching a high-quality True Crime documentary channel and are looking for a talented video editor. Our content isn’t just a list of facts. We focus on the psychology of criminals and the moments when their lies are exposed. We provide scripts as well as voiceovers. Your task is to bring it all to life. Quality Expectations: Before applying, please review these reference videos. If you cannot match the level of quality seen in these edits, this role may not be the right fit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsmLzeiPFPg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWzZcfHu3-c&t Your Role & Responsibilities: Editing 20–30 minute True Crime documentary videos based on our detailed scripts. Motion Graphics: Bringing boring documents to life. You must be able to animate police reports, highlight text on screen, create smooth photo parallaxes, and use kinetic typography to emphasize chilling quotes. Sound Design: This is crucial. Using SFX (bass drops, risers, heartbeat sounds, muted silences) to build tension and complement the Voiceover. Edit the audio as well, if necessary. Sourcing: Seamlessly integrating court footage, bodycams, and interrogations (links provided in the script) with high-quality. What We Are Looking For: Proven experience editing True Crime videos for popular channels. Advanced proficiency in Premiere Pro & After Effects (or DaVinci Resolve Studio). A master of pacing: knowing when to use rapid cuts for chaos, and when to let a chilling piece of footage play out in dead silence. Payment Terms & The Offer: Budget: $200 per completed video. Consistent Work: We are looking for a long-term team member. We can provide a steady flow of 4-5 videos per month. How to Apply: Attention Check: Start your proposal with the word TIMELINE so we know you read the details. Your Arsenal: Briefly tell us what editing software you use. Your Best Work: Link 2-3 of your best True Crime videos. (Please specify exactly what you did in the video: e.g., "I did all the editing, motion graphics, and sound design"). If your portfolio matches our high standards, we will invite you to complete a short, paid test task (editing 1-2 min. intro) before moving to a long-term contract.
