Expert Windows Developer - (Long-Term Potential)

We're looking for a native Windows developer to create a windows application that routes all network traffic through a DNS without being able to uninstall the application. About us: We're a fast-growing startup in the digital wellbeing space. Our user base has doubled in the last 40 days and keeps climbing. We already have a polished, working macOS app, and we're ready to bring the same experience to Windows. We're looking for a native Windows developer to build it - and for the right person, this grows into an ongoing, full-time role as we continue to scale. What you'll build: A Windows version of our existing macOS application. At a high level, the app routes the device's web traffic through our DNS layer to block specific sites, and it's built to be tamper-resistant so users can't instantly disable it - this is a core feature of the product (think accountability / parental-control style protection that the user opts into). We'll give you a live demo of the Mac version so you can see exactly how it behaves and what we want to replicate. Core scope: - Enforce DNS-based filtering for all system web traffic (not just a single browser), blocking specified sites/categories. - Prevent common circumvention — e.g., a user installing a VPN or manually changing DNS settings to get around the filter. - Tamper resistance / uninstall protection: a background Windows service (watchdog/daemon) that keeps the app running, resists being force-closed, and blocks unauthorized uninstallation. Uninstalling should only be possible through our authorized flow. - Clean install and onboarding experience with clear user consent, matching the Mac app's UX as closely as possible. About you - Native Windows developer - this is your core skillset. - Problem solver, and reliable. - You use AI tools eg Claude to move fast without cutting corners on quality (eg Claude did our whole frontend for macOS which you can copy the style) - Comfortable owning a feature end to end and shipping production software. The opportunity - This starts as a defined project — building and shipping the Windows app — but we're scaling fast and want a long-term partner.
