Summary

Fairwaii logo brief The brand Fairwaii is a golf content brand. Golf history, players, equipment, and courses, told in a bold, modern, editorial style for Instagram and TikTok. Think sports-media brand, not traditional country-club golf. The audience is the newer, streetwear-era golf crowd (Malbon, Eastside Golf, YouTube golf), not the stuffy club aesthetic. Important: “Fairwaii” is intentional. It is a play on the word “fairway” with a doubled i ending. It is not a typo, and the unusual spelling is a core feature of the brand. Please keep it spelled exactly as written. Inspiration The brand lives at the intersection of three references: • @technology (Instagram): bold, high-contrast editorial cards, heavy sans type, and stamped-band layouts on dark backgrounds. This is the format and visual energy. • Skratch: modern, irreverent golf media that speaks to a younger audience. This is the tone. • Golf Digest: the credibility and authority of established golf journalism. This is the substance. In one line: the authority of Golf Digest, delivered with the attitude of Skratch, in the bold editorial format of @technology. What I need A small logo system with three pieces: 1. Icon / brand mark. A standalone symbol, the “swoosh” of the brand. This is the priority. Think the way the Nike swoosh, the Apple apple, the Adidas stripes, or the Target circle stand completely on their own with no company name attached. The goal is a mark simple and distinct enough that over time it can represent Fairwaii by itself. It has to work as an Instagram profile picture and app avatar, so it must read clearly inside a circle and stay recognizable shrunk to about 40 pixels. It should signal golf instantly and feel ownable, not generic. 2. Wordmark / logotype. “Fairwaii” as a custom-set logotype for graphics, video, website, and merch. One idea to play with, not a requirement: the name ends in two back-to-back i’s (“waii”), which is a natural spot to work in a small golf detail, for example turning those two i-dots into a golf ball and a pin flag. Treat it as optional inspiration. We are open to whatever you find that fits. 3. Primary lockup. The wordmark and icon combined into one arrangement for general use. Concept direction I want golf, but modern and editorial. Not a golf-club crest, not a cartoon mascot. Some golf cues you could explore, your call, not a spec: a pin flag, a golf ball, a tee, a fairway line. I have leaned toward a pin flag because it reads well at small sizes and carries the red accent, but I want to see your take from scratch. Feel free to surprise me. The icon should feel like it belongs next to the wordmark. One family, not two unrelated designs. Style and constraints Please hold to these: • Palette: black background, white, and a single red accent. A clean, strong red, exact shade flexible. Nothing else. • Flat only. No gradients, no 3D or glossy spheres, no bevels, no drop shadows, no clip-art. • Type feeling: bold, high-impact, modern sans. My headline font is Anton, so a confident, condensed feel fits well. The wordmark can be its own custom face as long as it relates to that energy. • Must work in a single color: solid white on black, and reversed as black on white. • The icon must survive being tiny. If it only works large, it is not the mark. Please avoid these golf clichés • Crossed clubs or crossed-club crests • Full golfer silhouettes mid-swing • Country-club shields, laurels, or crest and badge shapes • Rulebook serif type or old-money “estate” lettering • Realistic or shaded golf balls, grass textures, or scenery • Trophies, gloves, gauntlets, or heraldry • Green as a primary color. It is black, white, and one red only • Anything that looks like a course logo or a pro-shop stamp Deliverables • Vector source: SVG, plus AI or EPS, plus PDF. • PNG exports with transparent backgrounds at multiple sizes, including a ready-to-use avatar version composed inside the circle. • Variations: full color, all white, all black. • A quick mockup showing the icon at Instagram avatar size (about 40 pixels) so we can confirm it holds up. Process Feel free to propose 2 or 3 concept directions first, then we pick one to refine. I care most about two things: the icon working as a tiny avatar, and the whole system feeling bold, clean, and unmistakably golf.
