Fast-Turnaround Video Editor for Viral Health / Wellness Short-Form Content (Weekend Availability)

The Role & Clear Expectations: We post high-quality, data-driven short-form videos 3 times a day across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. We are looking for a fast, reliable Video Editor who can support our Lead Video Editor to increase our output, tackle quick-turnaround trending news, and work through the weekends. Your tasks will include: Editing Short-Form Content: Cutting talking-head, faceless, and documentary-style exposé videos that are optimized for high retention and shareability. Fast Turnarounds & Weekend Coverage: While most of our content is scheduled 7-14 days in advance, we frequently jump on breaking health news (e.g., a major brand recall). You must be available on weekends to edit and deliver videos rapidly. Visual Storytelling: Incorporating B-roll, crisp IRL product shots, and app screen-recordings seamlessly into the footage. Brand Alignment: Editing in a style that is authoritative, direct, and informational. We focus on "empowerment over fear" and rely on clean, professional pacing rather than hyper-frantic, over-stimulating edits. The Skills Required: Advanced Video Editing: Expert proficiency in Premiere Pro, Final Cut, CapCut, or similar software. Mastery of Pacing & Hooks: You understand exactly how to cut a video for the first 3 seconds to maximize scroll-stopping retention. Attention to Detail: You must be meticulous when overlaying text or graphics—in our industry, a single typo on a lab result or contaminant metric is a critical error. Reliability: Proven ability to hit tight deadlines and turn around edits within 24 hours when required. Weekend availability is a must. Since we operate asynchronously, clear written communication is critical. We expect you to: Ask clarifying questions immediately if the script or provided B-roll is confusing. Be highly receptive to rapid feedback and revisions from our Lead Video Editor and Science Team. Provide reliable, concise updates on your progress in Slack without needing to be chased down.
