Summary

Hi creative people! I’m a web developer working with a client on advocacy-style articles. I have an ongoing relationship with this client, producing mainly templated articles, and I’m starting to branch into articles that have light illustration requirements. I’m hoping to partner with an illustrator to help me create those assets. These are typically flat vector illustrations for an editorial use case, fairly simple – I have several examples attached from previous articles. Not 3D, photorealism, or character work. I have a great relationship with the client and should be able to expand my work with them by adding an illustration partner, so I’m looking to establish a relationship with someone who can be my go-to for future work. For each project, the client provides a detailed brief including the topic and tone of the article, what they’re trying to convey (and not trying to convey), brand guidelines, and typically the full content of the article. For this first one, it’s a healthcare policy article touching on the criminal justice system, with an emphasis on care and dignity. Tone of hope and progress, avoiding stereotypical, reductive, or stigmatizing visual tropes for health conditions or incarceration. Deliverables would be: • 1 “hero image” graphic • 4 callout icons to accompany specific stats For each, an editable vector source file (Figma or Illustrator), and clean, web-optimized SVG exports. Typically 2-3 rounds of revision, first round may be a new-concept round if our first attempt doesn’t hit their mark. I’ll handle all communication with the client and pass along feedback. Important to note, for this first one, we’re in a hurry – the client’s looking for the first round by Tues, Aug 25. I know that’s fast, and I promise there’s usually more heads up before starting a project, this is a great client to work with, this particular project is just tight. I can commit to fast review and communication on my end. I can share the full brief and brand guidelines prior to getting started.
