Food Recipe Formulation Specialist

Looking for an experienced Food Product Developer / Recipe Formulation Specialist to help us develop and finalise recipes for a new packaged food product line. This is a commercial product development project, so I am looking for someone with experience developing recipes that can be manufactured at scale — not just a home cook or content recipe creator. What I need help with - The selected consultant will be responsible for: Developing and refining product formulations based on our flavour and ingredient requirements Creating recipes using clean, simple and commercially viable ingredients Balancing taste, texture, aroma and appearance Advising on suitable ingredients and ingredient alternatives Determining appropriate ingredient ratios and quantities Helping achieve consistency across batches Advising on shelf life and stability considerations Developing formulations that can eventually be scaled from small trials to commercial production Providing detailed formulations that can be shared with a third-party manufacturer Conducting/recommending trials and making adjustments based on trial results Advising on processing methods, roasting/baking/coating parameters, where relevant Identifying potential issues with texture, moisture, separation, rancidity, etc. Providing guidance on basic nutritional and regulatory considerations where relevant Ideal candidate Looking for someone who has: Professional experience in food product development / food R&D / food formulation Experience developing packaged food products for commercial sale Understanding of food processing and manufacturing Experience working with third-party/contract manufacturers Knowledge of ingredient functionality and substitutions Understanding of shelf-life and product stability Ability to create precise, reproducible formulations Experience with healthy / clean-label / premium food products is a strong plus Experience with snacks, nuts, bars, granola, confectionery, baked products or other packaged consumer foods would be particularly relevant. Important Not looking for someone who simply provides recipe ideas. The objective is to develop commercially viable formulations that can be reproduced consistently and ultimately manufactured at scale.
