About Dragon Lab Dragon Lab is a media and education platform founded by a neurosurgeon, Zen practitioner, educator, and speaker. Our work explores medicine, leadership, meaning, resilience, identity, healing, and the human experience. We are building thoughtful, emotionally resonant content—not influencer content, clickbait, or generic motivational videos. The mission is simple: Help people walking difficult paths find clarity, connection, and purpose. The Opportunity I'm looking for a long-term creative partner who can help build the content systems behind Dragon Lab. This is more than a traditional video editing role. The ideal candidate enjoys storytelling, understands audience engagement, and is excited by meaningful ideas. Over time, this role may grow into a larger content leadership position within the organization. Responsibilities Edit short-form vertical content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, and other platforms Edit long-form interviews, conversations, and talks Create captions, subtitles, and social-ready formatting Identify compelling moments from longer recordings Incorporate tasteful B-roll, imagery, and visual storytelling elements Assist with titles, hooks, and content packaging Organize media assets and maintain content workflows Collaborate on improving Dragon Lab's content style and systems Content Style Think closer to: Documentary storytelling Thought leadership content Educational media TED-style talks Podcast clips Founder brands Less interested in: Heavy effects Excessive animations Trend-chasing edits Loud influencer aesthetics Requirements Strong English comprehension Experience editing talking-head content Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, or similar software Understanding of pacing, storytelling, and audience retention Ability to receive feedback and iterate quickly Reliable communication and professionalism Bonus Qualifications Podcast editing experience Documentary editing experience Motion graphics skills Thumbnail design Experience editing educational, medical, leadership, or personal growth content Application Instructions To apply, please provide: Portfolio link Example work you are most proud of A short paragraph describing your editing philosophy The single portfolio piece that best demonstrates emotional storytelling Optional: Record a brief 1-2 minute Loom introducing yourself and telling us why this role interests you.
