Fractional COO — Wealth Management / RIA Acquisitions (Light, Advisory)
Worldwide
Job Description: Fractal AI Inc. is an AI-driven financial-services holding company acquiring U.S.-based Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs). We pursue "white knight" acquisitions: we buy founder-led advisory firms and retain the existing management team to keep running the business. Our role is to support, not replace. We are seeking a Fractional Chief Operating Officer to provide senior operational oversight across our acquired RIAs. You will not run day-to-day operations — the incumbent managers do that. Instead, you will act as a light-touch advisor and integration lead who helps each acquired firm operate more efficiently, standardize reporting, and strengthen controls while preserving the culture and client relationships that make these firms valuable. Engagement is intentionally light: no more than 10 hours/wk over the first year, post-financing. This is an advisory retainer for a seasoned operator, not a full-time seat. Responsibilities Advise acquired RIA management teams on operational best practices without disrupting their autonomy - Help standardize financial and operational reporting across acquired firms (AUM, revenue, EBITDA, client retention, advisor retention, net flows) - Support post-acquisition integration: systems, compliance workflows, vendor consolidation — gradual, transition-friendly - Identify operational efficiencies and cost improvements while protecting client trust and continuity - Serve as operational liaison between acquired firm leadership and Fractal AI parent company Required Qualifications - 10+ years senior operational leadership in wealth management, RIA, or financial services - CFA or Series 65 designation - Direct experience with RIA operations, compliance, and post-M&A integration - Track record managing or advising through ownership transitions - Comfort with a light-touch, retain-management model (not turnaround/replacement) - Strong reporting and process-standardization skills Preferred Qualifications - COO or operations-leadership experience at an RIA or RIA aggregator - Familiarity with custodial platforms, advisory billing, RIA compliance regimes - Experience with multi-entity holding-company reporting
