We are looking for a highly analytical, payment-savvy Part-Time Fraud Data Analyst to help us monitor, analyze, and mitigate transaction fraud across our platforms. In this role, you will be the gatekeeper of our transaction safety—optimizing our fraud prevention strategies while ensuring a seamless experience for legitimate customers. You will dive deep into our transactional data, leveraging Stripe Radar to manage custom rules and Stripe Sigma to identify and track complex fraud patterns. On the data engineering side, you will write performant SQL queries against our Amazon Redshift data warehouse to flag anomalous behavior, build dashboards, and support our overall risk posture. Key Responsibilities • Fraud Detection & Rule Optimization: Actively monitor transactional risk signals and optimize custom rules, block/allow lists, and 3D Secure (3DS) triggers within Stripe Radar to minimize disputes and chargebacks. • Risk Analytics & Threat Hunting: Utilize Stripe Sigma templates to write targeted SQL queries, tracking critical data tables. • Data Warehouse Analytics: Write advanced SQL queries in Amazon Redshift to analyze large-scale payment logs, identify emerging fraud vectors, and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on successful fraud attacks. • Reporting & Dashboards: Design and maintain clear, intuitive dashboards in Tableau to track key performance indicators such as chargeback rates, false positive rates, dispute win-rates, and overall fraud savings. • Actionable Insights: Translate complex data findings into actionable risk strategies, recommending adjustments to automated risk models and manual review queues. Required Qualifications • Experience: 2 or more years of hands-on experience in payment fraud analytics, chargeback operations, or trust and safety. • Stripe Ecosystem Expertise: Strong working knowledge of Stripe Radar (risk scoring, rule writing) and Stripe Sigma (querying transactional and dispute schemas). • Data Stack Proficiency: Exceptional SQL skills and hands-on experience querying large datasets within Amazon Redshift. • Analytical Toolsets: Proven experience using Tableau or similar reporting tools to build robust data visualizations and dashboards. • Core Concepts: Solid understanding of digital fraud landscapes, card network monitoring programs, and the delicate balance between transaction approval rates and fraud mitigation. Preferred Qualifications • Familiarity with Stripe Data Pipeline integrations syncing transaction data directly to Redshift. • Prior experience in high-volume e-commerce, SaaS, or marketplace platforms with complex billing flows. • Ability to work highly autonomously in a part-time, remote environment.
