FreeCAD Backyard Patio Modeling

Scope of Work: FreeCAD Backyard Patio Modeling & Drafting 1. Project Overview The objective of this project is to finalize a 3D model and generate 2D construction drawings for a residential concrete patio footprint. The basic geometry, boundaries, and critical real-world anchor points have already been established in a FreeCAD file, which will be provided upon hiring. 2. Current Project State Software: FreeCAD (native .FCStd format). Existing Geometry: 3D boundaries for the main house, a 10-foot rear addition, and the adjacent garage corner are modeled. The Curve: A rough B-Spline curve representing a double-hump sweeping edge has been drawn but needs to be correctly constrained and fully closed against the baseline. 3. Tasks & Technical Requirements The freelancer will be responsible for the following tasks within the provided FreeCAD file: Sketch Cleanup: Fully constrain the patio footprint sketch so it achieves 0 Degrees of Freedom (turns green in the solver). Curve Geometry: Ensure the layout utilizes a smooth B-Spline curve to create a seamless, organic rolling wave edge. Dimensional Constraints: * Lock the curve endpoints exactly to the 10-foot addition corner (left) and the garage corner (right). 3D Extrusion: Extrude the fully closed, constrained patio profile into a solid pad with a standard 4-inch thickness (representing the concrete pour depth). 4. Final Deliverables The freelancer must deliver the following files upon project completion: Updated FreeCAD File (.FCStd): The final, clean model featuring a fully constrained 2D sketch and the 3D extruded solid. Universal 3D File (.STEP): An exported STEP file of the final geometry. 2D Construction Blueprint (.PDF): A dimensioned layout sheet generated via FreeCAD’s TechDraw Workbench. This drawing must clearly show: Overall width and critical baseline points. Expected Turnaround: 2–3 business days from file handoff.
