Freelance Art Director / Graphic Designer — Advertising Agency (DE/EN, Remote, Contract-to-Hire)

Berlin-based creative and communications agency looking for an Art Director / Senior Graphic Designer for long-term remote collaboration across various brands. Freelance engagement with the option to convert to full-time employment via Upwork's contract-to-hire process once we've worked together successfully. You'll shape visual concepts and execute campaigns end-to-end — from key visual through adaptation across channels — alongside our creative direction team. We combine classical craft with an AI-first production pipeline. Must-have: 4+ years in an advertising or communications agency (Serviceplan, Jung von Matt, DDB, Publicis, Havas, McCann, Ogilvy, BBDO or equivalent caliber) Proven work on campaigns for major brands — real advertising portfolio, not stock/webdesign Strong conceptual thinking + flawless craft execution Full command of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) Sharp eye for detail — you spot what's wrong in one glance Thorough, responsible, deadline-reliable — you own your work Fluent German AND English in daily business use Nice to have: Hands-on with AI production tools (Magnific, Midjourney, Runway, Kling, Higgsfield) Motion / video treatment and storyboarding experience After Effects, Cinema 4D or comparable Awareness of current AI guidelines in advertising (EU AI Act transparency obligations) Setup: 100% remote.
