Freelance Azure Terraform / DevOps Engineer

Azure Terraform / DevOps Engineer (Must Work During U.S. Hours) We are looking for a freelance Azure Infrastructure / DevOps Engineer to work closely alongside an existing engineering team on an ongoing Azure platform modernization effort. This is not a “complete tasks independently and disappear” type of role. We need someone who can actively collaborate during working sessions, troubleshooting calls, PR reviews, and infrastructure discussions in real time. What You’ll Work On Azure infrastructure provisioning using Terraform Terraform remote state/bootstrap setup Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines Azure networking and private endpoint configurations Infrastructure troubleshooting and debugging Reusable Terraform modules Log Analytics, Key Vault, ACR, App Services, APIM, PostgreSQL Infrastructure documentation and PR collaboration Collaboration Expectations Must be available to work during U.S. business hours (Central or Eastern preferred) Must be comfortable pairing live over Zoom/Teams/Slack Must be responsive during active work sessions Comfortable joining troubleshooting/debugging calls Able to collaborate through Git PR workflows and engineering discussions Strong communication skills are important Required Experience Strong Terraform experience Strong Azure experience Azure DevOps pipeline experience Experience with: Private endpoints RBAC Managed identities Hub/spoke networking Private DNS Experience troubleshooting real infrastructure deployment issues Nice to Have Government or healthcare cloud experience Experience in secure/private-only Azure environments APIM experience Observability/monitoring experience (Log Analytics/App Insights) Ideal Candidate We’re looking for someone practical and collaborative who can jump into existing infrastructure work, help solve problems quickly, and work together in real time rather than purely async task delivery.
