Freelance Content Marketer

# Freelance Content Marketer ## About the Role We're looking for a sharp, detail-obsessed freelance content marketer to own written content across multiple channels. If your instinct is to reach for Canva before a Google Doc, this isn't the right fit — this is a writing-first role, full stop. You'll be creating and editing content across blogs, email campaigns, and social media for a variety of clients across different industries. Each client has their own voice, tone, and brand guidelines — and all are based in the US or Canada. Switching between them accurately, with a solid grasp of North American culture and audience expectations, is a core part of the job. You'll work independently, manage your own output, and consistently hit a high bar for quality. --- ## What You'll Do - Write original content for blogs, email newsletters, and social media posts across multiple clients and industries - Absorb and apply each client's brand guidelines, tone of voice, and style — and switch between them cleanly - Use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) as part of your workflow where it speeds things up - Edit and rewrite AI-generated drafts so they read like a human wrote them — not like a prompt was answered - Fact-check all content before it goes out - QA your own work and catch errors before we do --- ## What We're Looking For **This role is for you if:** - You have a strong, natural writing voice and can adapt it across formats - You genuinely notice when something sounds off — a word choice, a clunky sentence, a fact that seems shaky - You know how AI-generated content sounds, and you know how to fix it - You're creative but also precise — you care about the details **This role is NOT for you if:** - You're planning to paste AI output directly and call it done - Your background is primarily in design or visual content - You need heavy direction on every piece --- ## Requirements - Proven experience writing across blog, email, and social formats for multiple clients or industries (samples required) - Ability to read and faithfully apply brand guidelines — tone, vocabulary, style — without letting your own voice bleed through - Demonstrated ability to produce content that doesn't read as AI-generated - Strong fact-checking instincts - Native English speaker — fluency isn't enough for this role; natural, idiomatic writing is a must - Deep familiarity with US and Canadian culture — you'll be writing for North American audiences and need to understand cultural nuances, references, and sensitivities without having to be told - Prior freelance experience managing multiple clients simultaneously --- ## To Apply Include writing samples showing range — ideally pieces from different clients or industries that demonstrate you can adapt your voice. Add a short note on how you use AI in your writing process. We'll be looking closely at how you write your application — consider it part of the audition.
