Freelance Instructional Designer / eLearning Developer (Articulate Storyline or Equivalent)

Project Overview We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer / eLearning Developer to transform a written curriculum into a polished, interactive online learning experience. This is not a content writing position. The curriculum has already been developed in a detailed written syllabus complete with learning objectives ,lesson content, knowledge checks and assessments. Your responsibility will be to convert that material into a modern, engaging, self-paced eLearning course suitable for adult learners. The course is a 40-hour Medical Interpreter Training Program designed for interpreters throughout the United States to meet their pre-qualifications for certification testing. We are looking for someone who can take written instructional content and bring it to life through professional instructional design, multimedia, and interactive learning. Scope of Work The selected developer will: * Transform written lesson content into professional eLearning modules. * Design engaging Storyline-style presentations with a clean, modern appearance. * Create or source professional royalty-free graphics, illustrations, icons, and photographs that reinforce the learning objectives. * Produce high-quality English voice-over narration (human or premium AI voice). * Synchronize narration with animations and visual elements. * Build interactive learning activities throughout each module. * Export the final course into an LMS-compatible format (SCORM preferred). * Assist with implementation into the selected Learning Management System. * Perform quality assurance testing before final delivery. The complete written course content will be provided. Learning Platform We are not committed to a specific Learning Management System. While we have explored platforms such as TalentLMS, we welcome recommendations from experienced developers. Our priorities are: * Easy administration * User-friendly learner experience * Reliable reporting * SCORM compatibility * Easy future maintenance * Scalability for future courses * Cost-effective long-term ownership Please include your recommended LMS platform and explain why you believe it is the best solution for this project. Proposed Milestones Milestone 1 * Determine Base Foundation to Build from, colors, voice, branding * Module 1 completed (8 sections) * Module 7 completed (5 sections) Milestone 2 * Module 8 completed (5 sections) * Module 9 completed (6 practice scenarios) * Module 10 completed (4 review/testing sections) Milestone 3 * Module 2 completed (8 sections) * Module 3 completed (8 sections) Milestone 4 * Module 5 completed (10 sections) Milestone 5 * Module 4 completed (20 sections) * Module 6 completed (7 sections) Milestone 6 * Final revisions completed * Final SCORM packages delivered * Knowledge checks validated * Final examination tested * Course navigation verified * Certificate functionality completed * LMS implementation finalized * Full quality assurance completed * Final project approval Deliverables At project completion we expect to receive: * Editable source files * SCORM packages * Audio narration files * Graphic assets used in the course * Final LMS-ready course * Documentation for future maintenance * Any custom files necessary to update the course in the future Paid Design Test (Required) Before awarding the full project, we will invite a small group of finalists to complete a paid design test. Each finalist will receive one sample lesson from our written curriculum and will be compensated to develop it into a short interactive eLearning module. The purpose of this exercise is to evaluate: * Instructional design ability * Creativity * Visual design * Audio quality * User experience * Attention to detail * Communication * Ability to follow project specifications Compensation will be provided regardless of whether the applicant is ultimately selected for the full project.
