Freelance Product Designer for Eyewear

Freelance Product Designer - Premium Safety Eyewear (Fashion-Forward) We are building Optve, a new premium Australian safety eyewear brand designed for the modern tradie. We produce AS/NZS 1337 certified frames that don't look like safety glasses. They look like something you'd actually want to wear on site, off site, every day. Think D.Franklin or EPOKHE applied to a safety certified product. The brand identity is fully developed and we are ready to move into product development on our first frame collection. This is not a digital or UX design role. We need someone who designs physical products. What we need: An experienced freelance product designer with hands-on experience in fashion eyewear or premium sunglasses design, someone who understands frame construction, materials, lens systems and how to take a design from concept through to production-ready files for a manufacturer. Experience working with manufacturers in China or Taiwan is a strong advantage. Who this is for: You have designed physical eyewear or fashion accessories before. Your portfolio shows bold, clean, fashion-forward product work. You know how design decisions at sketch stage affect what comes out of a factory. If you know brands like D.Franklin, EPOKHE and Rixx Eyewear you already understand the aesthetic we are building toward. Budget: $5,000- $10,000 AUD for full project scope. Shortlisted candidates will receive a full project brief and brand document, and will be invited to complete a paid concept sketch before any commitment is made.
