Freelance SolidWorks Engineer; Sheet Metal & Weldment Drafting (On-Demand)

We are a Melbourne-based design agency partnering with local sheet metal, welding, and fabrication workshops. We are looking for an expert, on-demand SolidWorks engineer to join our pipeline for ongoing project-based work. Most projects involve taking hand sketches, 2D drawings, or PDFs from clients and converting them into production-ready manufacturing files. Core Deliverables Required Per Project: Parametric 3D SolidWorks Models (.SLDPRT, .SLDASM) Clean, manufacture-ready flat pattern DXF files with optimized bend allowances for CNC laser/plasma cutting 2D fabrication drawing blueprints with clear dimensions, tolerances, weld symbols, and structural cut-lists Requirements: Proven expertise in SolidWorks Sheet Metal and Weldments modules Absolute understanding of real-world manufacturing physics (tolerances, material bend allowances, laser cutting constraints) Fast turnaround times (typically 24–48 hours from project acceptance) Flawless English communication skills Please apply with examples of sheet metal enclosures, brackets, or structural frames you have personally modeled and detailed for production.
