French Localization/Translation Specialist for E-Learning

# French (France) Localization Specialist & Translator (Technical Content) – Immediate Start ## Project Overview We are seeking an experienced French (France) Localization Specialist and Translator to support the localization of technical training and e-learning content for the skilled trades industry. This is a fast-paced project with aggressive deadlines, and we are looking for someone who can begin immediately and contribute with minimal onboarding. The ideal candidate has experience translating and localizing technical, instructional, and training materials from English into French (France). Strong contextual understanding is essential, as much of the content is highly technical, simulation-based, and designed for real-world trade professionals. This role requires more than direct translation. The successful candidate must be able to adapt content naturally for a French audience while preserving technical accuracy, instructional clarity, and industry-specific terminology. ## Key Responsibilities * Translate and localize English-language technical and training content into French (France). * Adapt e-learning materials, presentations, subtitles, on-screen text, assessments, and supporting documentation. * Review and edit localized content to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to terminology standards. * Collaborate with project managers, instructional designers, and other localization team members to meet tight project deadlines. * Localize images, graphics, and visual assets, including replacing and formatting translated text within images. * Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure content is linguistically accurate, culturally appropriate, and technically precise. * Identify terminology, context, or localization issues and communicate recommendations to the project team. ## Required Qualifications * Native-level French (France) proficiency with excellent written communication skills. * Professional experience translating and localizing content from English into French (France). * Demonstrated experience with technical, instructional, e-learning, or training content. * Familiarity with terminology related to one or more of the following industries: * Electrical * HVAC * Plumbing * Facilities Maintenance * Construction * Experience working with Google Workspace tools, including: * Google Slides * Google Drive * Shared folder management and organization * Ability to maintain formatting and layouts within presentation files during localization. * Experience localizing images and visual assets. * Basic video editing experience, including updating localized captions, subtitles, and on-screen text. * Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively with context-heavy content. ## Project Requirements * Must be available to start immediately. * Must be comfortable working under tight deadlines and managing a high-volume workload. * Must be responsive and able to communicate effectively throughout the project. * Must be able to work independently while maintaining high-quality standards. * Previous experience with technical training, e-learning, or skilled trades content is strongly preferred. ## Preferred Qualifications * Experience localizing simulation-based learning content. * Familiarity with localization quality assurance (LQA) processes. * Experience working with terminology databases, style guides, and translation memory tools. * Background in the skilled trades industry or technical education. ## What We're Looking For We are looking for a localization professional who understands the importance of context, technical accuracy, and instructional clarity.
