Friendship Matching App for Special Needs

Project Overview I am looking for an experienced mobile app developer to help bring a meaningful idea to life. The concept is inspired by the swipe-and-match functionality of popular apps like Tinder and Hinge, but with a completely different purpose: helping individuals with special needs, including autism, Down syndrome, and other developmental disabilities, build genuine friendships and social connections. This project is very personal to me. I have a sibling with autism and have seen firsthand how challenging it can be to find meaningful friendships and social opportunities. My goal is to create a safe, user-friendly platform that makes friendship-building more accessible. Current Status I am currently in the idea and planning stage and do not have a technical background. I am looking for a developer who can not only build the application but also help guide me through the development process, recommend features, and advise on the best technology stack and approach. Core App Concept The app would: Allow users to create profiles highlighting their interests, hobbies, personality traits, and preferences. Use a matching system to connect users who share similar interests and compatibility factors. Present potential friendship matches in a simple, engaging interface. Allow users to express interest in connecting. Enable messaging and conversation once a match is established. Focus exclusively on friendship and social connection rather than dating. Prioritize safety, accessibility, and ease of use.
