Frontend UI/UX Developer (AI-Enhanced Product Experience)

Summary Location: Remote (EU preferred) Type: Full-time / Freelance Start: ASAP ABOUT US We are a fast-growing fintech startup building open banking-powered payment infrastructure for merchants. We are looking for a talented Frontend UI/UX Developer with strong expertise in modern web technologies, user-centered design, and AI-powered development workflows to help us scale and elevate our payment orchestration platform. YOUR ROLE You’ll take ownership of the frontend experience of our open banking gateway, working closely with product, backend, compliance, and business teams to build intuitive, high-performance financial interfaces. You’ll begin with smaller, well-defined UI tasks to get familiar with our architecture, design system, and workflows. As you ramp up, you’ll quickly move toward owning larger features and eventually contribute to the overall product experience and frontend architecture. Your responsibilities will include: Designing and developing responsive, modern, and scalable frontend applications using React and Next.js. Translating product requirements and UX concepts into clean, intuitive interfaces. Collaborating closely with designers and backend developers to deliver seamless user experiences. Building reusable UI components and maintaining a scalable design system. Optimizing frontend performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility. Integrating APIs and payment-related services into user-facing applications. Using AI-assisted development tools (such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, v0, Figma AI, or similar) to accelerate design, prototyping, and development workflows. Contributing to UX improvements through user feedback, analytics, and experimentation. Participating in code reviews, frontend architecture discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborating daily with a remote team of developers, product managers, and business leads. MUST HAVE SKILLS At least 2–4 hours daily availability during CET timezone. Minimum 3 years of experience in frontend development and UI implementation. Strong proficiency with React.js and/or Next.js. Solid understanding of modern JavaScript/TypeScript. Experience building responsive and mobile-friendly user interfaces. Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, accessibility, and component-based design. Experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with modern frontend workflows. Familiarity with Git, version control, and collaborative development practices. Experience using AI-powered developer and design tools to improve productivity and workflows. Ability to work autonomously in fast-paced startup environments. Strong communication skills and fluency in English. NICE TO HAVE SKILLS Experience in fintech, payments, or open banking products. Familiarity with Tailwind CSS, Material UI, or modern design systems. Experience with Figma and developer/designer collaboration workflows. Understanding of frontend performance optimization and analytics. Experience implementing AI-powered UI features such as chat assistants, intelligent dashboards, or AI-generated insights. Familiarity with prompt engineering for AI-assisted UI generation and prototyping. SOFT SKILLS Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams. Comfortable discussing ideas, progress, and blockers proactively with team members when needed. Team player with a positive and solution-oriented mindset.
