Full Stack Developer (AWS + Node.js)

What We Are Building Arcwall is an AI Security Posture Management (AI-SPM) platform. We help CTOs, CISOs, and security architects find and fix vulnerabilities in their AI infrastructure automatically, in minutes, not weeks. Think threat modeling, MCP security scanning, auto-remediation, and compliance evidence generation, all in one platform. We are a two-founder startup at MVP stage with private beta users. You will work directly with both founders. No layers, no sprints theater. Just build. What You Will Work On Our immediate roadmap includes a Railway to AWS migration (ca-central-1), a rule engine build-out, and a series of product features across the web app and VS Code extension. Roughly 60% product, 40% infrastructure in the near term. Infrastructure and cloud: • Migrate backend from Railway to AWS (ECS Fargate, RDS PostgreSQL, S3, CloudFront, ElastiCache Redis) • Set up AWS ca-central-1 for Canadian data residency requirements • CloudTrail logging, gov-zone VPC, SAML 2.0 / OIDC / SSO integration • GitHub Actions CI/CD pipeline work Product and application: • Node.js 20 LTS / TypeScript backend APIs (currently on Railway, moving to AWS ECS) • Vanilla JS / HTML / CSS frontend on Netlify CDN • Supabase PostgreSQL database work • VS Code extension (TypeScript) updates and new features • MCP server (@arcwall/mcp-server) maintenance and extensions • Stripe, Resend, and Plausible integrations What We Need Required: • Node.js + TypeScript, 3+ years • AWS hands-on: ECS Fargate, RDS, S3, CloudFront, VPC, IAM (not just theory) • PostgreSQL and Supabase or similar • Vanilla JS / HTML / CSS (no framework required) • GitHub and CI/CD workflows • Can work independently, communicate clearly in English, flag blockers early Strong bonus: • AWS ca-central-1 / Canadian data residency experience • SAML 2.0 / OIDC / SSO setup • VS Code extension development • MCP (Model Context Protocol) or Anthropic Claude API experience • Prior security tooling or developer-tools startup experience Tech Stack Layer Technology Backend Node.js 20 LTS / TypeScript (migrating Railway to AWS ECS Fargate) Frontend Vanilla JS, HTML, CSS (Netlify CDN) Database Supabase PostgreSQL 15 (migrating to AWS RDS) Cloud AWS ca-central-1: ECS, RDS, S3, CloudFront, ElastiCache, VPC, CloudTrail AI Engine Anthropic Claude Haiku 4.5 Extensions VS Code Extension (Marketplace) + MCP Server (npm) Auth / SSO SAML 2.0 / OIDC / Active Directory (Phase 4) Payments / Email Stripe + Resend Analytics / CI/CD Plausible + GitHub Actions Engagement Details • Contract type: Ongoing (Upwork) • Budget: $500 USD/month • Location: Fully remote.
