Full Stack Developer Needed — Next.js, FastAPI, Healthcare / HIPAA Experience

We are looking for a full stack developer to help build and improve a healthcare-related web platform. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working across both frontend and backend, with strong experience in Next.js and FastAPI. Experience with healthcare applications, HIPAA-aware architecture, PHI handling, secure data workflows, or patient/provider portals is strongly preferred. This is an existing project, so you should be able to read the current codebase, understand the structure, and continue development without needing everything built from scratch. You will also be working together with our current developer, so clear communication and teamwork are important. The expected workload is 20–30 hours per week. You should be able to work during Eastern Time or Central Time hours. Responsibilities: Build and maintain frontend features using Next.js / React Develop backend APIs using FastAPI Work with databases such as PostgreSQL Implement secure authentication and role-based access control Handle healthcare-related data carefully, following HIPAA-aware best practices Integrate third-party services when needed Write clean, maintainable, and well-structured code Communicate clearly and provide regular progress updates Collaborate closely with the current developer Required Skills: Strong experience with Next.js, React, and TypeScript Strong experience with Python and FastAPI Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases Understanding of secure API design and authentication Experience working on healthcare, medical, patient portal, provider portal, or HIPAA-related systems Ability to work independently in an existing codebase Nice to Have: Experience with AWS, Docker, or cloud deployment Experience with audit logs, data access control, and PHI/PII protection Experience with testing and API documentation Please include examples of relevant projects, especially any healthcare or HIPAA-related work you have done.
