Full-Stack Developer (Next.js + Supabase) with AI

We're a small team building a web application and looking for an experienced full-stack developer to take it from where it is now to a polished, production-ready product. The core of the project is a full-stack app built on Next.js with Supabase handling authentication, the Postgres database, and file storage. On top of that, we need AI features integrated through the OpenAI API — things like an in-app assistant, smart search, and automated content generation that make the product genuinely useful rather than just functional. We need someone who can own the whole thing end to end: designing the database schema in Supabase, building the frontend in Next.js and React, wiring up the APIs between the frontend, Supabase, and third-party services, integrating the AI layer, and handling deployment. We're not looking for a quick prototype — we want clean, reliable code that holds up with real users. Our stack is Next.js, Supabase (Postgres, auth, storage), and we're flexible on the backend layer (NestJS or Node). Strong experience with API integration and a real track record of shipping AI-powered features into production is important to us. A bit about how we work: we've partnered with a developer we trust before, and we're looking for that same level of ownership and clear communication. Reliability and good judgment matter to us far more than the lowest bid. Ideal experience: 1- Shipped production full-stack apps on Next.js and Supabase 2- Hands-on OpenAI API integration (not just demos or experiments) 3- Comfortable with Postgres schema design, row-level security, and API integrations 4- Able to take a project from idea to deployed, working product This can be structured as either a fixed-price or hourly contract, and there's potential for ongoing work for the right person. Budget is flexible depending on experience.
