Full-Stack Mobile + Computer Vision Engineer for Prototype

We are looking for one experienced full-stack engineer to help us build a working mobile prototype for a computer-vision-based application. We already have an existing web-based frontend that can be used as a reference for the product experience. The goal of this engagement is to turn the core product concept into a functional mobile prototype, including the frontend, backend, database, and computer vision integration. This is not intended to be a production-ready application at this stage. We want to move quickly, prove the core experience, and establish a solid foundation that can be expanded later. What You Would Own You would be the primary engineer responsible for the prototype end-to-end, including: Building the mobile application Setting up the backend/API Setting up the database and storage as needed Implementing camera/photo/video functionality Integrating the computer vision workflow Connecting the frontend and backend Deploying the prototype/backend Providing a working build that we can test on a physical phone Basic testing and bug fixing Documentation and handoff of the codebase We expect all code to be maintained in GitHub repositories/accounts controlled by us. Ideal Background We are looking for someone who has personally built complete applications, not someone who specializes only in one part of the stack. Strong experience with several of the following is preferred: React Native / Expo React / TypeScript Python FastAPI, Django, Flask, Node.js, or similar backend frameworks Computer Vision OpenCV YOLO or similar object detection / vision models PyTorch or TensorFlow REST APIs PostgreSQL / Supabase / Firebase or similar AWS, GCP, or comparable cloud infrastructure Mobile camera / image / video handling Git / GitHub Experience using modern AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar tools is also a plus. Project Goal The primary objective is to have a working end-to-end prototype that can be demonstrated on a mobile device. We care more about getting the core workflow functioning reliably than building every feature, handling every edge case, or making the application production-ready. We expect the selected engineer to help us make practical technical decisions about what should and should not be included in the initial prototype.
