Senior Quality Engineer (AI-Driven Quality & Automation) Location: Remote (Preference for Guadalajara, Mexico) Employment Type: Full-Time Contract / Long-Term Industry: AI, SaaS, Business Intelligence, Financial Technology About Grind Analytics Grind Analytics develops AI-powered software platforms that help organizations automate document processing, workflow execution, business intelligence, and operational decision-making. Our flagship platform, MODM AI, combines AI assistants, document intelligence, workflow automation, analytics, and integrations into a unified SaaS platform. We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer who will take complete ownership of software quality across the organization. This is not primarily a manual testing role, but may involve manual testing for cases that are not yet automated or cannot be automated. We are seeking an experienced quality engineering leader who can define quality strategy, select and implement testing tools, build automation frameworks, leverage AI extensively, and create a quality process that scales with a fast-moving development team. The Opportunity Our development team is increasingly leveraging AI tools to accelerate delivery. We need a quality leader who can use the same technologies to ensure quality keeps pace with development velocity. You will own quality engineering from end to end, including: • Quality strategy • Test architecture • Test automation • AI-assisted testing • Release readiness • Defect prevention • Quality metrics and reporting What You'll Own Quality Strategy & Leadership • Define and own company-wide quality standards and practices • Create scalable QA processes that support rapid software delivery • Establish release readiness criteria and quality gates • Develop quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the SDLC Test Design & Execution • Design comprehensive testing strategies for new features and releases • Create risk-based testing approaches that maximize coverage and efficiency • Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test suites • Perform exploratory testing when needed • Validate functionality across web applications, APIs, workflows, integrations, and data layers • Identify, document, prioritize, and drive resolution of defects Test Automation • Select, implement, and maintain automation frameworks • Build automated regression suites for critical business processes • Expand automated coverage across UI, APIs, workflows, and data validation • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines • Continuously improve automation coverage and reliability AI-Powered Quality Engineering • Leverage AI tools to dramatically increase testing efficiency • Use ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Copilot, and other AI platforms to accelerate test creation and maintenance • Evaluate AI-native testing platforms and recommend adoption where appropriate • Implement AI-assisted defect analysis and root cause investigation • Continuously explore emerging AI capabilities that improve software quality Required Qualifications • 7+ years of software quality assurance and quality engineering experience • 3+ years designing and implementing automated testing solutions • Experience building QA processes and frameworks from the ground up • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and Agile methodologies • Strong experience testing web applications and SaaS platforms • Strong API testing experience using tools such as Postman • Strong SQL and database validation skills • Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar platforms • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Highly Preferred • Playwright • Cypress • Selenium • REST API automation • Azure Cloud • CI/CD pipeline testing • AI application testing • Workflow automation testing • Financial services, banking, lending, or fintech experience • Experience working with distributed remote teams What Success Looks Like Within 90 Days • Understand the MODM AI platform architecture and development process • Assess current testing capabilities and identify improvement opportunities • Recommend and begin implementing a quality strategy and toolset • Establish baseline quality metrics Within 6 Months • Automated regression coverage significantly expanded • AI-assisted testing workflows operational • Quality gates integrated into release processes • Reduction in manual testing effort through automation Within 12 Months • Quality scales without proportional increases in headcount • Production defects reduced significantly • Releases become more predictable and reliable • Quality engineering becomes a competitive advantage for the company Why This Role Is Different Most QA positions focus on executing tests.
