About Us Ascendra Digital is a marketing agency that helps home service businesses — roofing, HVAC, electrical, remodeling, bath remodeling, and outdoor living companies — generate qualified leads through paid social and AI-driven lead systems. Creative is the single biggest lever in our results, and we're building an in-house creative engine to match. We're looking for a full-time video editor to join that engine. The Role We need a dedicated short-form video editor to turn raw footage from our home service clients into scroll-stopping ads for Facebook and Instagram. These aren't brand films — they're direct-response ads with one job: make a homeowner see the service, feel the "I need this," and book an appointment. The work is a mix of formats — B-roll-driven job site/before-after edits, voiceover-led explainer style videos, and UGC/talking-head content — so you'll need to be comfortable building a compelling video from any of these starting points, not just one style. You'll be editing a high volume of short-form video (15–60 seconds) week after week, so we need someone who can move fast without sacrificing quality, and who understands that every cut, caption, and hook exists to drive an action — not just look good. What You'll Do Edit raw footage (job-site B-roll, before/afters, customer testimonials, talking-head/UGC content) into punchy, high-converting short-form video ads Cut B-roll-driven edits paired with voiceover or script, as well as UGC/talking-head style edits — often within the same week across different clients Craft strong hooks in the first 1–3 seconds to stop the scroll Sync voiceover/script pacing with visuals, and add captions, sound design, text overlays, and pacing that keep viewers watching to the end Structure each video around a clear arc: grab attention → show the service/result → build trust → drive the viewer to book Continuously test and iterate on formats, hooks, and styles to fight creative fatigue and keep performance up Organize and manage a steady pipeline of raw footage and finished assets across multiple client accounts Collaborate directly with our media buying team on what's performing and what needs to change Turn around a high volume of edits weekly to keep pace with active ad campaigns What We're Looking For Proven experience editing short-form content for paid social (Facebook/Instagram ads, direct-response video) — not just cinematic or long-form work Range across formats: B-roll-driven edits with voiceover/script, and UGC/talking-head content — we need one editor who can do both well, not a specialist in only one A portfolio that shows an understanding of retention, pacing, and hooks — not just clean cuts Comfortable working with raw, imperfect, real-world footage (job sites, contractors, homeowners) and making it compelling Fast turnaround without cutting corners — this is a high-volume role Strong sense of what makes someone stop scrolling and what makes them keep watching Experience with Premiere Pro, CapCut, or similar editing software Bonus: experience editing specifically for home service, local service, or trade businesses Bonus: basic motion graphics / text animation skills How to Apply Please include: A link to your portfolio or 2–3 examples of short-form ad/UGC edits you're proud of (ideally with any results/metrics if available) A short note on how you approach editing for conversions vs. editing for polish Your availability and time zone We're looking to bring someone on quickly and build a long-term working relationship — this is meant to be a full-time, ongoing role, not a one-off project.
