ABOUT THE COMPANY Mountain Freight LLC is a small, owner-operated trucking company based in Colorado running dry van & reefer operations across the USA. We run a lean operation and we're looking for one sharp, dedicated dispatcher not a dispatch company, not a team, just one person who is laser-focused on maximizing revenue for our trucks. Dispatcher will start with 2 Freightliners under management with the expectation to add more in the future. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING • Finding and negotiating profitable loads on DAT, Truckstop, and direct broker relationships ($3.00+/mile target) • Coordinating all pickup logistics: communicating with drivers, brokers, and shippers; ensuring smooth check-ins and loading • Managing in-transit visibility: tracking driver progress, handling delays proactively, keeping brokers informed • Delivering loads successfully: managing delivery appointments, obtaining PODs, submitting paperwork fast • Building broker and shipper relationships for repeat business not just one-and-done load board transactions • Coordinating basic preventive maintenance scheduling (oil changes, PM intervals, shop appointments) • Handling problems quickly and professionally breakdowns, delays, detention claims, and anything else that comes up COMPENSATION This is a commission-only, 1099 independent contractor role. Total compensation is 3-5% of gross load revenue per load. The dispatchers target will be $50,000 revenue from 2 Freightliners per month. That's 2 loads per week, $3000 or more per truck. We want someone who sees this as a floor, not a ceiling the more revenue you generate, the more you earn. Additional trucks will be added to dispatchers management in the future. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR • Proven experience dispatching USA dry van or reefer • Hands-on experience with load boards (DAT and/or Truckstop required) • Strong English communication skills written and verbal (broker calls required) • Deep understanding of American trucking culture, broker relationships, and freight market dynamics • Excellent negotiator you fight for rate, not just accept the first offer • Self-starter who manages their own time and doesn't need hand-holding • Comfortable with math: rate per mile, detention calculations, fuel surcharges • Experience with HOS (Hours of Service) regulations and driver compliance • Available Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM Mountain Time minimum NICE TO HAVE • Experience building direct shipper or broker relationships beyond load boards • Familiarity with maintenance coordination (PM scheduling, breakdown management) • Experience with TMS software or digital dispatch tools WHAT WE OFFER • Full operational ownership — you run the freight, we stay out of your way • Direct communication with owner decisions happen fast, no corporate bureaucracy • Long-term engagement — we're not looking for someone for a month, we want a real working relationship • Clear performance expectations no guessing what success looks like HOW TO APPLY To be considered, please include the following in your proposal: • A short video (2–3 minutes) introducing yourself and describing your dispatching experience in English this is required, not optional • Your experience with DAT or Truckstop load boards • The highest rate per mile you've negotiated on a load and how you got there • How many trucks you've managed simultaneously and at what volume • Your preferred communication tools and typical availability We respond quickly to quality applications.
