GIS Integration Lead

**Job Description:** We are actively seeking a highly skilled and strategic technical professional to play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between advanced spatial technology and our core IT infrastructure. This multifaceted position will focus on integrating Geographic Information Systems (GIS) solutions with existing systems to ensure a seamless flow of data and optimal functionality throughout the organization. In this role, you will be responsible for GIS integration, Area of Review workflow design, spatial-data validation, GIS data-source coordination, ESRI/ArcGIS output handling, GIS dashboard requirements, and GIS evidence/audit records for a UIC Class I/Class VI solution. This role will ensure that applicant-submitted GIS files, maps, CAD-derived exhibits, well-location data, stratigraphic materials, reviewer GIS outputs, and external-source cross-checks are linked to the electronic case file, routed through appropriate HITL approval gates, and preserved in auditable records. The GIS Integration Lead will coordinate with the Solution Architect, UIC SME, Hydrogeology/Geoscience SME, Integration Lead, AI/RAG Lead, and QA Lead to deliver a safe, reviewer-controlled GIS/AoR workflow that supports regulatory decision process without overclaiming autonomous GIS modeling or legal determinations. The ideal candidate will possess a rich background in spatial data analysis, complemented by a solid foundation in IT project management. You should have a deep understanding of GIS technologies, including but not limited to spatial databases, data modeling, and the various software tools and platforms that facilitate GIS applications. Additionally, familiarity with programming languages relevant to GIS, such as Python or JavaScript, will be considered a significant advantage. Key responsibilities will include collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, designing integration strategies, and implementing GIS solutions that align with our business objectives. You will be expected to troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise, ensuring that GIS systems operate smoothly and efficiently. Moreover, you will play a crucial role in training and supporting staff members in the use of these systems, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization.
