Geospatial Researcher – Find & Set Up a Platform to Buy Current Overhead Imagery

The Project We're an established U.S. construction services company. For estimating and remote site assessment, we need to reliably pull the most current, highest-resolution overhead imagery available for a specific single property — typically one house, one building, or one parcel at a known address. We need a freelancer to (1) identify the best platform or service to do this, and (2) get us set up and trained to order imagery on our own going forward. This is a research-and-setup project, not a long-term role — though we order imagery often enough that there's potential for ongoing work. Scope / Deliverables Research and compare the viable platforms for buying current overhead imagery of a single small site on demand. Evaluate each option on what actually matters to us: Resolution — sharp enough to see and measure a roof, parking lot, awning run, or structure Recency — how current the imagery is, and whether fresh/newly-tasked capture is available Cost per site — and any minimum order size or subscription requirement Coverage — reliable availability for Oklahoma and the U.S. generally Commercial-use licensing — we need the right to use it in bids and estimates Measurement tools — bonus if the platform supports on-image measurement / takeoffs Note the tradeoff between satellite and aerial (plane-based) imagery for a single property, and recommend whichever gives us the best resolution and recency for the price. Recommend the best-fit platform (or two), with rough per-site pricing. Help us get an account set up and walk us through ordering imagery for a given address — ideally including one test pull on a sample property so we can confirm it works. Requirements Hands-on experience with satellite/aerial imagery, GIS, remote sensing, or geospatial data Familiarity with providers in this space (e.g., Nearmap, EagleView, Maxar, Planet, Vexcel, SkyFi, Apollo Mapping, LandViewer) is a strong plus Able to explain the options plainly to a non-specialist and actually get us running on the chosen tool Strong written English
