# German Localization Specialist (Trades Industry) – Immediate Start **Project Overview** We are seeking an experienced German Localization Specialist to support the localization of technical training and e-learning content for the skilled trades industry. This is a fast-paced project with aggressive deadlines, and we are looking for someone who can start immediately and contribute with minimal ramp-up time. The ideal candidate has proven experience localizing technical content related to electrical, HVAC, plumbing, facilities maintenance, construction, or similar trades. Strong contextual understanding is critical, as much of the content is highly technical, simulation-based, and requires accurate adaptation for German-speaking learners. ## Key Responsibilities * Localize English-language training materials into German while maintaining technical accuracy and instructional intent. * Translate and adapt documents, presentations, subtitles, on-screen text, and other learning assets. * Review and edit localized content to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to terminology standards. * Localize images, graphics, and visual assets, including replacing and formatting translated text within images. * Collaborate with project managers, instructional designers, and other localization team members to meet tight project deadlines. * Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure content is culturally appropriate and technically accurate for the target audience. ## Required Qualifications * Native-level German proficiency. * Demonstrated experience localizing technical, instructional, or e-learning content. * Strong familiarity with skilled trades terminology, including one or more of the following areas: * Electrical * HVAC * Plumbing * Facilities Maintenance Experience working with Google Workspace tools, including: * Google Slides * Google Drive * Shared folder management and organization * Ability to maintain formatting and layouts within presentation files during localization. * Experience localizing images and visual assets. * Basic video editing experience, including updating localized on-screen text, captions, or subtitles. * Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work with context-heavy content. ## Project Requirements * Must be available to start immediately. * Must be comfortable working under tight deadlines and managing a high-volume workload. * Must be responsive and able to communicate effectively throughout the project. * Previous experience in the trades industry or technical training environments is strongly preferred. ## What We're Looking For This role is best suited for a localization professional who already understands the language and terminology used in the trades.
