Project Overview We are seeking an experienced ghostwriter to collaborate with an author on a deeply personal memoir exploring childhood abuse, neglect, trauma, resilience, and the lifelong journey toward healing. The author has already written approximately 4,700 words, which should be viewed primarily as an outline and foundation for the manuscript rather than a polished draft. She has wanted to tell her story for many years but has struggled with finding the time and maintaining focus to complete the book. We are looking for a compassionate, organized ghostwriter who can help transform her experiences into a compelling, emotionally authentic memoir. Manuscript Details Genre: Memoir Target Length: 45,000–55,000 words Existing Material: Approximately 4,701 words Scope: Expand the existing material through interviews and collaboration into a complete manuscript. The finished memoir will reflect on the author's childhood marked by abuse, neglect, and trauma while examining how those experiences influenced her identity, relationships, and emotional well-being. Alongside these difficult experiences, the book will focus on her journey of healing, resilience, and personal growth. Responsibilities Review the existing manuscript and notes. Develop a comprehensive chapter outline for approval. Conduct interviews with the author as needed. Organize life events into a cohesive narrative. Write an engaging, emotionally honest memoir in the author's voice. Submit chapters for review and incorporate feedback throughout the project. Ideal Candidate We're looking for someone who has experience with: Ghostwriting memoirs or autobiographies Writing about trauma, recovery, mental health, or personal transformation with empathy and sensitivity Conducting interviews and extracting meaningful stories Maintaining an authentic first-person voice Strong organization, communication, and project management skills Please include samples of memoir, autobiography, or narrative nonfiction writing with your proposal.
