# Google Ads & Local Search Specialist (Freelance Retainer – 6 Month Project) ## About Us KBB Academy is one of the UK's fastest-growing business growth platforms for independent kitchen and bathroom businesses. We help kitchen fitters, bathroom installers and small KBB businesses transition from labour-only work into profitable supply and installation businesses through coaching, technology, websites, CRM systems and ongoing support. Alongside the Academy, we also operate KBB Supply Services, supplying kitchens and bathrooms nationwide through our growing member network. Our long-term vision is to build the UK's leading growth ecosystem for independent KBB businesses. --- ## The Opportunity This is not a typical Google Ads management role. We are looking for someone to help us design, build and document a scalable Google Ads system that can eventually be rolled out across hundreds of independent kitchen and bathroom businesses within our Academy. Rather than managing completely different businesses, you'll be creating a repeatable framework that improves over time through shared data and continual optimisation. This is an opportunity to build something from the ground up that will become a core part of our business. --- ## The Project Over the next six months, you'll work directly with the founder to build our complete PPC system. The project will begin with six pilot businesses. ### Bathroom Pilot We already have an established Google Ads account with over 12 years of campaign history. Using this knowledge and existing account data, you'll build and optimise campaigns for three bathroom businesses. Objectives include: * Auditing existing campaign performance * Improving campaign structure * Building reusable templates * Developing master negative keyword lists * Improving Quality Scores * Reducing cost per enquiry * Documenting the process --- ### Kitchen Pilot Our Academy members already receive SEO support, meaning we have real keyword data from Google Search Console showing what people are already searching for. Using this live data, you'll launch Google Ads campaigns for three kitchen businesses using proven local search terms rather than generic keyword research. You'll help us discover: * Which keywords convert best * Which locations perform best * Which landing pages generate enquiries * Which search terms should become standard across every future campaign --- ## What You'll Build By the end of the project we want to have: * A complete Google Ads campaign template * Master campaign structures * Master ad groups * Master keyword lists * Shared negative keyword libraries * Responsive Search Ad templates * Asset and extension templates * Landing page recommendations * Conversion tracking standards * Reporting dashboards * Standard operating procedures (SOPs) * Documentation allowing future campaigns to be launched quickly and consistently Everything should be built with scalability in mind. --- ## Our Long-Term Vision Our goal is for every Academy Plus member to eventually receive: * Website optimisation * Local SEO * Google Business Profile optimisation * Monthly content * Keyword tracking * Google Ads management * Monthly reporting * Ongoing optimisation Your work will form the foundation of this system. --- ## Technical Requirements Essential: * Expert knowledge of Google Search Ads * Strong experience using Google Ads Manager (MCC) * Experience managing multiple local service businesses * Strong understanding of conversion tracking * GA4 * Google Tag Manager * Landing page optimisation * Search term analysis * Negative keyword strategy * Performance reporting Desirable: * Local SEO knowledge * Experience with Google Search Console * Experience scaling similar campaign structures * Ability to create clear documentation and SOPs --- ## How We Like to Work We're looking for someone who thinks commercially rather than simply managing clicks. We want someone who asks questions, challenges ideas, brings recommendations and helps us build a genuine competitive advantage. We're not interested in vanity metrics. We care about: * Qualified enquiries * Booked surveys * Sales * Return on investment * Scalability You'll work closely with the founder during the six-month project and have significant input into how this system evolves. --- ## Deliverables By the end of the project we expect to have: * Six successful pilot campaigns * A fully documented Google Ads framework * Campaign templates ready for rollout * Shared optimisation processes * Reporting systems * A repeatable launch process capable of supporting hundreds of future member businesses If the project is successful, there is strong potential for an ongoing long-term retainer as we expand the system across our growing member network. --- ## Ownership All campaign structures, templates, documentation, processes, negative keyword libraries, reporting systems and intellectual property created during this engagement will remain the property of KBB. The successful candidate will help us build a scalable business asset rather than simply manage advertising campaigns.
