Job Description We need a true Google Business Profile expert for two things: setting up new profiles the right way from day one, and cleaning up existing profiles that were previously managed with black hat tactics. This is a white hat engagement, full stop. We're building a clean foundation and repairing damage at the same time. This is NOT a job for anyone who uses or recommends: Fake reviews or review gating Keyword stuffing in business names, categories, or descriptions Fake check-ins or manufactured engagement signals Duplicate listing manipulation Paid placement schemes or any tactic that violates Google's Business Profile guidelines If that describes your approach, please do not apply. What We Need Help With 1. New Profile Setup — Done Right From the Start Verification Identity and eligibility confirmation before claiming (ensuring the business qualifies for a GBP listing) Selecting the correct verification method and executing it cleanly Avoiding common verification mistakes that cause immediate flags or delays Profile Build-Out Accurate, guideline-compliant business name (no keyword stuffing) Primary and secondary category selection strategy — the right categories, not the most categories Precise service area or storefront configuration depending on business type NAP (Name, Address, Phone) consistency aligned with the website and all major citations Business hours, holiday hours, and special hours set correctly Complete and accurate business description — keyword-aware but human-first Attributes and amenities filled in accurately and completely Products and/or services listed with clean, accurate descriptions and pricing where applicable Visual Assets Photo and video upload strategy (exterior, interior, team, products/services) Compliance with Google's photo guidelines — no watermarks, no stock photos, no deceptive images Cover photo and logo optimized for display Trust & Engagement Foundation Q&A seeding with genuinely useful questions and accurate answers First-post strategy using Google Posts (offers, updates, events) Setting up a legitimate, compliant review request process from launch Google Messaging setup and response protocol recommendations 2. Existing Profile Remediation — Healing Black Hat Damage Audit & Diagnosis Full audit of existing listing(s) to surface all guideline violations, spam signals, and algorithmic risk factors Review profile health assessment (fake/purchased reviews, velocity anomalies, suspicious patterns) Duplicate listing discovery — identifying all conflicting or redundant listings Business name and category compliance review Cleanup & Recovery Removal of keyword-stuffed business names, descriptions, and attributes Strategy and execution for addressing fake reviews: flagging, owner responses, formal removal requests Duplicate listing resolution — merging or permanently closing conflicting profiles the right way Suspended or disabled profile reinstatement: appeal writing, evidence gathering, Google support escalation Removal of fake photos, spam Q&A, or other user-generated content that creates risk Ongoing Compliance & Optimization Full alignment with Google's current quality and content guidelines Legitimate local SEO optimization across all profile fields White hat review acquisition strategy — ethical, scalable, sustainable Monitoring setup for future violations, competitor spam attacks, or unauthorized edits Ideal Candidate 3+ years of dedicated Google Business Profile / GMB management experience Demonstrated success building clean profiles that rank and convert from launch Proven track record reinstating suspended GBP listings through legitimate appeal processes Deep familiarity with Google's quality guidelines and how violations (intentional and accidental) are detected Experience untangling profiles that were mismanaged or manipulated by prior agencies or tactics Comfortable communicating directly with Google Business support Honest and transparent — tells us what's realistically fixable and what isn't Bonus: Multi-location or franchise profile experience Google Business API familiarity Broader local SEO chops: citation building, schema markup, local link signals Experience with Google's redressal/spam reporting tools
