Google Ad Manager / DFP Specialist Needed to Build GAM & Tagging Setup for DigitalSports.com
Worldwide
**Job Description:** We are looking for an experienced **Google Ad Manager / DFP publisher ad operations specialist** to create and organize our ad inventory inside Google Ad Manager for **DigitalSports.com**. We already know our site structure, ad locations, and the inventory we need to support. We do **not** need a broad ad strategy project. We need someone who can take our known inventory requirements and properly create the setup inside GAM, including ad units, placements, custom targeting/key-values, and any missing GPT tag requirements needed to support flexible ad delivery. That said, if our current planned format can be improved, simplified, or made more scalable, we are open to recommendations. We want someone who can both execute the setup and advise us if there is a better way to structure the account for long-term flexibility. This is **not a Google Ads/PPC job**. This is **not a media buying job**. This is **not a general marketing job**. We need someone with real **publisher-side Google Ad Manager** experience. **What We Have:** DigitalSports.com includes national, league, school, team, sport, schedule, standings, roster, calendar, results, news, and custom page inventory. Each school is currently tied to a **Blog ID**. Example ad inventory includes: * Top 728x90 banners * Bottom 728x90 banners * 300x250 side rail units * School splash page inventory * School calendar inventory * League calendar inventory * League standings inventory * League results inventory * Team schedule inventory * Team roster inventory * Team standings inventory * Team news inventory * National news/article inventory * Blog ID / school-specific inventory * Potential sport-specific inventory within a Blog ID/school **What We Need Done:** We need the selected specialist to build the correct setup in Google Ad Manager so we can target and deliver ads by: * National site * League * School / Blog ID * Team, if feasible * Sport * Page type * Specific ad position * Specific content area * Specific Blog ID + page type * Specific Blog ID + sport, if feasible * Specific placement such as top 728x90, bottom 728x90, or side rail 300x250 **Primary Scope of Work:** * Review our inventory requirements * Create/organize the appropriate GAM ad unit structure * Create/organize placements * Create custom targeting/key-values as needed * Define naming conventions inside GAM * Map our existing ad positions to the proper GAM ad units and targeting values * Review our current GPT/site-side tagging approach * Identify any missing tags, key-values, or page-level values our developers need to add * Provide exact tag/key-value requirements to our internal developers * Make recommendations if our current format should be adjusted to make targeting, reporting, or long-term maintenance cleaner * Make sure we can target specific slots like: * Top 728x90 on a specific school/Blog ID page * Bottom 728x90 on a school page * Side rail 300x250 units * Specific page types such as schedule, roster, standings, news, calendar, results * Specific sports within a school/Blog ID, if feasible * Avoid creating an overly complex or unmanageable GAM account * Provide a final setup guide for our internal team **Important Notes:** We have our own developers who will make any required website code changes. We do not need the freelancer to directly edit our website. However, we do need the freelancer to tell our developers exactly what additional GPT tags, slot-level targeting, page-level targeting, or key-values need to be passed for flexible ad delivery. **What We Do NOT Need:** * Google Ads/PPC setup * Search ads * Performance Max * Paid search management * Website development * Media buying * General ad sales strategy * A broad monetization consultation **Required Experience:** Please only apply if you have experience with: * Google Ad Manager / DFP * Publisher-side GAM setup * GAM ad unit creation * Placements * Custom targeting/key-values * GPT tags * Page-level targeting * Slot-level targeting * Multi-site or large publisher inventory * Direct ad delivery setup * Inventory structure for content-heavy websites **First Deliverable:** We would like to start with a paid setup/review phase that includes: 1. Reviewing our current GAM setup and inventory requirements 2. Creating or recommending the correct GAM ad unit structure 3. Creating or recommending placements 4. Creating or recommending custom targeting/key-values 5. Identifying any missing GPT tags or targeting values needed from the site 6. Providing our developers with a clear list of required implementation changes 7. Confirming how specific ad delivery scenarios should be targeted inside GAM 8. Recommending improvements to our current format if there is a cleaner or more scalable approach **Example Delivery Scenarios:** We need to be able to support scenarios such as: * Deliver an ad to the top 728x90 banner on one specific school splash page * Deliver an ad to all ad slots across one specific Blog ID/school * Deliver an ad to only schedule pages within one specific school * Deliver an ad to all standings pages across all leagues * Deliver an ad to the 300x250 side rail position across school pages * Deliver an ad to a specific sport within a specific school/Blog ID, if feasible * Deliver national ads across all available inventory **Please Include in Your Response:** 1. Examples of Google Ad Manager / DFP publisher setups you have built 2. Experience with custom targeting/key-values 3. Experience reviewing GPT tags and identifying missing targeting values 4. How you would structure targeting for Blog ID + page type + ad position 5. How you avoid creating too many ad units 6. Any recommendations you may have for simplifying or improving our planned setup 7. Your hourly rate 8. Estimated time to complete the initial setup/review 9. Whether you can create the setup directly inside GAM and provide developer documentation **Goal:** We want a clean, scalable Google Ad Manager setup that lets DigitalSports.com control ad delivery by national site, league, school/Blog ID, page type, sport, and ad position, while giving our developers the exact missing tag requirements needed to support that flexibility. We know the inventory we need to support, but we are open to expert recommendations if our current format can be improved for better targeting, reporting, or long-term maintenance.
