Grant Writer & Funding Researcher – Nonprofit

About AKW Foundation AKW Foundation (akwfoundation.com) is a charitable organization committed to creating lasting community impact. We are building out our development function and looking for a skilled grant professional to own our funding pipeline end to end. The Role We need someone who can do three things well: find the money, win the money, and manage the systems. This is an ongoing part-time role with room to grow as we scale our funding operations. What You'll Do Own and manage AKW Foundation's Bonterra nonprofit profile — keeping our mission statement, program descriptions, financials, and impact data fully updated so corporate funders can find and approve us Monitor and respond to grant opportunities that come through Bonterra from corporate CSR programs and foundations Proactively research and identify grant opportunities beyond Bonterra — foundations, government grants (Grants.gov), and corporate giving programs — using platforms like Candid, Instrumentl, or GrantStation Build and maintain a live grant pipeline with deadlines, award amounts, and eligibility notes Write compelling, polished grant proposals, Letters of Intent (LOIs), and full applications tailored to each funder Track all submissions and follow up on pending applications Handle grant reporting requirements for any awarded funding Who We're Looking For Proven track record securing grants for nonprofit or charitable organizations — please share funding amounts won Hands-on experience with Bonterra (CyberGrants) strongly preferred Familiar with grant databases such as Candid/FDO, Instrumentl, GrantStation, or Grants.gov Strong proposal writer — you can translate a mission into a story funders want to fund Highly organized, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple applications simultaneously Experience with 501(c)(3) organizations required Engagement Ongoing retainer preferred, open to project-based to start Remote, fully flexible hours Please include your hourly rate or monthly retainer ask in your proposal To Apply Include the following or your application will not be considered: Grant writing samples or portfolio Total funding secured for past clients/organizations Confirmation of Bonterra experience (or comparable grant management platform) Brief description of your grant research process
