GraphQL/REST API Developer for Research Data Collection

Job Description: We are looking for an experienced developer to support a research project focused on labour market analysis using approved and compliant data sources. The role involves collecting and structuring data through official APIs and other permitted methods. Scope of Work: Component 1: API-Based Data Collection - Extract structured freelancer profile data using officially supported APIs (GraphQL and REST, where access is authorised) - Extract work diary data (aggregated hours worked per inidvidual job) using official APIs (both REST and GraphQL, where access is authorised) - We will provide the required data fields Component 2: Research Dataset Development Compile datasets that include information such as: - Freelancer characteristics (e.g., location, skills, rates) - Job-level attributes (e.g., client industry, general job information) - Work diary records (e.g., aggregated hours logged per job completed accessible via official API) Ensure all data collection strictly complies with platform terms of service and applicable regulations. No scraping or extraction of restricted or non-permitted data. Important Compliance Note: All work must adhere to the terms of service of any platform or data source used. Only publicly available or explicitly authorised data access methods should be utilised. Ideal Candidate: - Strong experience with GraphQL and REST APIs and structured data extraction - Experience working with platform APIs (marketplace or labour data is a plus) - Understanding of data compliance, privacy, and ethical data collection practices - Ability to deliver clean, well-documented datasets - Able to work independently and efficiently Timeline & Availability: Project duration: approximately 2 weeks Deliverables expected within the agreed timeframe after contract start Application Instructions: Please share relevant experience with API-based data collection or similar data projects, particularly those involving compliant data access and structured datasets.
