Graphic Designer / Motion Designer Needed to Create Fictional Film Editing Software UI
Worldwide
I'm looking for a talented graphic designer/motion designer to create several high-quality fictional software interfaces for a narrative film. The goal is to convincingly portray a professional post-production workflow similar to films like *Searching (2018)*, where much of the story is told through computer screens. These interfaces must look authentic and familiar to industry-standard software while remaining legally distinct from existing products. ## Scope Design and animate approximately **4–5 software interfaces**: 1. **Video Editing Software** * Inspired by Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, Final Cut, etc. * Timeline, bins, source/program monitors, effects panels, markers, clip organization, playback controls, etc. * Needs to convincingly sell that an editor is cutting a professional film. 2. **Search Engine Interface** * Similar to Google Search but with an original design. * Search results, browser UI, tabs, bookmarks, address bar, etc. 3. **Audio Editing Software** * Inspired by Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Reaper, etc. * Waveforms, EQ panels, meters, effects, noise reduction, multitrack timeline. 4. **Production Paperwork / PDF Viewer** * A PDF-style document viewer containing realistic production paperwork such as: * Cast & crew lists * Shooting schedule * Location information * Production notes * Director's preferred takes * Audio notes * Editorial notes * Scene information 5. **Color Grading Software** * Inspired by DaVinci Resolve. * Color wheels, scopes, node graph, LUT controls, waveform/vectorscope, gallery, timeline, etc. ## Requirements The interfaces need to be created in a way that allows animation without losing quality. * Adobe Illustrator for vector artwork * Adobe After Effects for animation * Fully editable project files * Layered assets suitable for animation * Clean organization and naming The UI should support realistic: * Mouse cursor movement * Clicking and dragging * Scrubbing timelines * Zooming in and out * Opening/closing panels * Highlighting clips * Selecting tools * Window transitions * General interaction expected from a professional editor The interfaces should be convincing enough that someone familiar with professional filmmaking believes they're watching a real post-production workflow. ## Important This is **not** a UI/UX project for a real application. These are fictional interfaces designed specifically for a short film. They should clearly take inspiration from existing professional software while remaining legally distinct and original. ## Please Include * Portfolio showing UI design, motion graphics, HUDs, dashboards, or fictional interfaces * Experience with After Effects and Illustrator * Any previous work involving film graphics, screen replacements, or fictional software interfaces * Estimated timeline * Your estimated budget Experience creating graphics for films, television, or cinematic screen content is a major plus.
