Graphic Designer — Vectorize Original Acrylic Paintings for a Growing Art Line (Ongoing)
Worldwide
About the work I run a small art business built around my original acrylic wildlife paintings — sporting dogs, game birds, trout, fly-fishing subjects, and more. My work gets applied across a range of products: silk scarves, wallpaper, fabric and textile designs, and glassware. The most common work I need help with is converting high-resolution photographs of my original acrylic paintings into clean, simplified vector files — typically 8–12 colors — that preserve the character and paint texture of the original. I usually specify the color palettes. I’m looking for a creative, talented designer with a strong eye for translating painterly texture and brushwork into a vectorized format without losing the soul of the piece. This is a long-term partnership with increasing levels of monthly work as the collection grows. I want someone reliable I can keep handing more to. First project: double old fashioned glasses The first assignment is a set of DOF glasses, so it’s a slightly different application than the textile work above — 2-color (white + black) graphics with a natural, painterly, hand-brushed texture, prepared as full-wrap print files. The collection is organized as 4 sets of 4 (16 designs total): Sporting dogs (4): English pointer, German shorthair pointer, yellow lab, English cocker spaniel Game birds (4): bobwhite quail, pheasant pair, wood duck, mourning dove Trout (4): rainbow, cutthroat, brown, brook (up-close portraits) Fly-fishing flies (4): four different flies Each design also gets a decorative Greek key band across the top: Dogs and birds → the hand-painted blue-and-gold Greek key (shown below) Trout and flies → the muted gray Greek key (shown below) Greek key — dogs & birds: Greek key band for dogs and birds Greek key — trout & flies: Greek key band for trout and flies I can provide Adobe Illustrator vector files for several of these paintings already, which should give you a helpful head start. Scope of the first project Convert each original painting into clean, production-ready 2-color artwork (white + black only), preserving a natural, painterly, hand-brushed texture — not a flat, over-simplified trace. Lay each design out on the glass wrap template (provided — see file specs below), positioned and scaled for the glass. Add the correct Greek key band across the top of each design (assigned by subject as noted above). Keep all critical detail inside the safe area, and set up files to meet the manufacturer’s imprint requirements. Deliver files organized by set and subject, cleanly named. Deliverables & file specs For each of the 16 designs: Layered vector file (.ai, .eps, or .svg) with the two colors (white + black) on separate layers / spot channels. 300 DPI PNG proof on the wrap template for review. Wrap template (provided as a labeled file, and summarized here): Trim / wrap size: 11.0” × 3.75” (3300 × 1125 px @ 300 DPI) Full artboard incl. bleed (0.125” all sides): 11.25” × 4.0” (3375 × 1200 px) Safe area (keep logos/text inside): 10.5” × 3.25” Seam clearance: 0.25” clear at each vertical edge Greek key band: full width across the top, ~0.6” tall Color: 2 spot colors only — white + black — on clear glass Note: these dimensions are my working estimate for a 13 oz straight-sided DOF glass. Final imprint area and printable height should be confirmed against the manufacturer’s official spec before art is finalized — I’ll share that as soon as I have it. What you’ll receive High-quality reference photos of each painting or vector files of previous conversion work for each painting. Adobe Illustrator vector files for several of the paintings (head start) The two Greek key band designs The labeled glass wrap print template Timeline You must be able to start right away. Sporting dogs and game birds: due August 28th (first priority) Trout and flies to follow on a schedule we’ll agree on together What I’m looking for Strong skills in digital illustration, vector conversion, or high-fidelity raster editing A creative eye for preserving the character and paint texture of an original painting in a vectorized format An eye for color harmony and design aesthetics, and comfort working to a specified color palette (typically 8–12 colors for the textile work; 2 colors for this first glass project) Efficient worker who can turn assignments around reliably Perfect written and spoken English and clear, responsive communication Organized file delivery with consistent, logical naming Genuine interest in a long-term partnership with increasing monthly work as the line grows To apply, please tell me A short note on your experience with vector conversion of paintings or detailed illustration, ideally where preserving texture/brushwork mattered. Please share relevant samples. How you approach working to a client-specified color palette (8–12 colors). Confirm you can start immediately and your availability through August 28th for the first set (dogs and birds). Your hourly rate within the $15–$22 range.
