We're an early-stage startup launching a hyperlocal app that helps parents discover family-friendly activities, get trusted recommendations from nearby parents, and connect with other families in their neighborhood. We are launching end-of-August, and looking to hire someone ASAP. We are planning to launch neighborhood-by-neighborhood, focused on winning one neighborhood at a time. We're preparing for our first neighborhood launch (in Park Slope, Brooklyn) and are looking for someone who can help us build and execute a thoughtful, creative, grassroots go-to-market strategy - not just create social media posts. This is a highly collaborative role working directly with the founder. What you'll do: We're looking for someone who can think strategically and execute. You'll help us: -Develop a neighborhood go-to-market strategy for launch -Design creative, low-cost customer acquisition campaigns -Plan and execute guerrilla/community marketing initiatives -Build a user engagement and retention strategy so people continue using the app after signing up -Help recruit and manage neighborhood ambassadors -Coordinate partnerships with local businesses and community organizations -Develop referral and word-of-mouth growth strategies -Create and manage launch timelines and marketing initiatives -Analyze what's working, iterate quickly, and suggest new experiments Who we're looking for: You'd be a great fit if you: -Have experience marketing consumer products or startups -Have experience with boots-on-the-ground, guerilla marketing campaigns -Have worked on launching a product or growing an engaged community -Think creatively and love finding unconventional ways to reach customers -Are highly organized and comfortable owning projects -Enjoy both strategy and hands-on execution -Are proactive—you don't wait to be told what to do -Can move quickly while staying thoughtful Huge bonus if you: -Are a parent of young children -Live in Brooklyn or NYC -Understand how local parenting communities work -Have experience with community-led growth, referral marketing, ambassador programs, or local events Trial engagement: We're looking to start with a 30-day paid trial of approximately 10–15 hours per week. If it's a great fit, we'd love to continue working together through launch and beyond. To apply: Please tell us a bit about: -Why you're interested in this project. -A consumer product or community you've helped launch or grow (large or small). -One creative grassroots marketing idea you would try for a neighborhood parenting app. -Whether you're a parent and where you're located. -Your hourly rate and weekly availability. We're much more interested in creativity, ownership, and good judgment than years of experience.
