HIPAA Compliance Consultant for Healthcare Web Application

Project Overview We are developing a healthcare-related web application that will handle protected health information (PHI) and must be designed to meet HIPAA requirements. Our internal development team has extensive experience building web applications and digital platforms, however we are looking for an experienced HIPAA consultant to guide us throughout the project and ensure that our architecture, processes, and implementation align with HIPAA requirements. About the Project Modern web application and API architecture Cloud-hosted infrastructure Custom-built application Development team already in place Consultant role only, no development work required Responsibilities We are looking for a consultant who can: Review the proposed system architecture Identify HIPAA requirements applicable to the project Advise on handling Protected Health Information (PHI) Recommend security and access control best practices Review authentication and authorization approaches Advise on audit logging requirements Review data encryption and storage practices Guide infrastructure and hosting decisions Advise on Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) Help conduct risk assessments Review the application before launch and identify compliance gaps Provide documentation recommendations and compliance guidance Desired Experience Demonstrated HIPAA compliance experience Experience advising healthcare SaaS or web applications Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or similar platforms Experience working alongside software engineering teams Knowledge of healthcare security best practices Ability to translate compliance requirements into practical implementation guidance Engagement This is an advisory and consulting role. We expect periodic involvement throughout the project lifecycle, including: Initial architecture review Development phase consultations Security and compliance reviews Pre-launch assessment Please include the following in your proposal: Your HIPAA consulting experience.
