Health Economic Researcher/Publisher

We are seeking an experienced health economist / academic researcher to develop a rigorous economic case for the value of early cardiovascular disease (CVD) diagnosis versus late-stage detection and treatment. This work should produce a strong, academically credible, numbers-driven analysis demonstrating the financial, clinical, and market value of earlier diagnosis across global healthcare systems, including the UK (NHS), US, Europe, Kenya, and broader LMIC/African markets. Scope of Work The consultant will: Conduct a structured review of peer-reviewed literature, payer reports, and health economics evidence Build an economic model comparing early diagnosis vs delayed diagnosis for cardiovascular conditions such as arrhythmias, heart failure, ischemic heart disease, and stroke prevention Quantify: hospitalization cost savings avoided emergency/ICU admissions stroke prevention savings lifetime treatment cost reduction cost-effectiveness (QALY / ICER) ROI / budget impact productivity and indirect economic gains Kenya / Africa Focus A specific component should assess the economics of delayed cardiovascular diagnosis in Kenya and similar low-resource settings, including: cost burden of late-stage CVD care catastrophic household expenditure public vs private payer opportunity insurer economics healthcare infrastructure gaps addressable market opportunity for scalable cardiac diagnostics Deliverables Expected outputs: Academic abstract / publication-ready summary Economic white paper Supporting evidence tables and references Financial model assumptions Market opportunity analysis Ideal Candidate We are seeking someone with experience in: health economics cardiovascular disease economics payer / reimbursement analysis cost-effectiveness modeling HTA / budget impact analysis academic medical research Strong preference for candidates with published work, cardiovascular expertise, and familiarity with Kenyan, African, or LMIC healthcare systems.
